Hello, I recently started getting a BSOD and this is the last dump file that was created: http://1drv.ms/1Bdz7xX

The computer created this mini dump and now the desktop icons all disappear and the start menu appears completly blank, then it will just restart without BSOD or creating a mini dump.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

the bugcheck was in the driver
uiriset.sys Wed Oct 29 12:09:57 2008

but the stack kind of looks like a really bad driver or a malware attack.
I would update uiriset.sys or remove it (i don't have no idea what it is for)

I would also do a malwarebytes scan, rootkit scan and run cmd.exe as an admin then
run
sfc.exe /scannow
and confirm it does not find corruptions it can not fix. if it fixed somethin, reboot and run the command again. Sometimes malware will undo the fixes right after the command completes.

Note: this looks like a older machine: so blow the dust out, and run memtest86 to detect hardware failures in the memory system. Solder tends to crack and make bad connections that come and go as the circuits heat up. I would let the machine cool down, then boot memtest86 when it is cold and confirm the memory works ok.

machine info:
BIOS 786G1 v01.22
BIOS Release Date 08/25/2009
Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard
Product Name HP Compaq dc7900 Convertible Minitower
Processor Version Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz
Processor Voltage 8ch - 1.2V
External Clock 1333MHz
Max Speed 6000MHz
Current Speed 3000MHz

Thanks your the responses. I ran a system restore, but it only went back a couple days, which was after this started happening. I searched for the uiriset.sys file, but didn't find anything on the computer. I ran malware bytes and it didn't find anything (fully updated). I've run other rootkits as well with nothing found. I ran sfc multiple times and nothing abnormal was found. This computer isn't that old, it has the newer intel i7-4770k processor with an asus z87-a MB, 16 gig of 1600Mhz RAM. I don't think it's overheating, it's running between 75F and 85F.

It's weird that even if I let it just sit, it will at some random point, freeze or every desktop icon disappears and will restart, or the whols screen is black with only the cursor visable and I have to restart it. I've looked at event viewer and it really hasn't given me any more clues into what might be going on. I would prefer not to have to do a clean install, but if it comes to that, then I will.

Any other thoughts would be welcomed.

it is pretty strange to get a driver name and date that I can not find real info on. there are only a few references to it on google. Mostly because of bugchecks. if you can boot you might run cmd.exe as an admin
then run
driverquery.exe
and see if the driver shows up in the list.
then run driverquery.exe /v
to get a list that shows the path to the file, then try and go and rename the file like this:

ren c:\windows\system32\drivers\baddriver.sys c:\windows\system32\drivers\baddriver.bad

wait a few seconds and kill the power to your machine and the plug in the machine and boot it again.

I ran driverquery and it didn't show any driver named that. I am pretty sure I had malware, but I have ran countless scanners and nothing has found anything. I believe it messed up some sys files, but am at a loss at how to fix besides a full reinstall, which I'd rather not have to do. I am not sure if there is anything else I can do to figure out why it will appear like I have no files on my computer and then will restart without giving me any BSOD or error. I've run sfc and it hasn't found anything. Anything else?

Thanks again.
