BSOD "Attempt to reset display driver and recover from time out failed"

GPU: XFX HD 7850 core edition 2GB, no overclocking on my part.

OS: Windows 7 64bit

Catalyst driver version: 13.1

I've experienced this BSOD several times now.

How to reproduce it: Play Skyrim for an hour or longer (has to be a lenghty period of time), exit, start Firefox, BSOD with the exact same error message.

What I've done to troubleshoot this:

1) uninstall Catalyst Control Center in safe mode

2) use Driver Fusion to clean orphan files and registry entry

3) reinstall Catalyst Control Center.

I have Net Framework 4.0 (required cor catalyst driver > 12.x)

I just bought this card a few days ago. Is this a driver issue or should I RMA the GPU?

i would install msi afterburned and turn on fan profile that maxes your gpu fan out. it may be heat issue causing the bsod.
i would run cpu-z and memtest to rule out bad stick of ram.

Already have. My GPU temp does not go above 62 degrees celcius during Skyrim. Idle temp is around 40. Even during stress benchmark tests using MSI Kombuster, it only went up to 66 degrees celcius. Much cooler than my previous nvidia card.
