Hello,
Info: Recently I did a huge upgrade to my rig. Replaced my mother board with a z370 tuf pro gaming MOBO and got a new i7-8700k my gpu is a GTX 1070 (no problems with that) 16 gigs or ddr4 ram. Everything ran fine for a week or two.
Problem: a couple of days ago I was playing a game as usual and all the sudden my game froze and I got a BSOD. I restarted my pc to run into another BSOD. Now I can’t get into windows at all or boot to a cd with a repair tool. After a little bit Of trouble shooting I’ve figured out that it’s not a problem with my ssd or hardrive or ram. I ran a mem test and I noticed it said “cores running 1. 1 total.” I didn’t think much of it but I disabled the other cores in my bios and I managed to boot to a repair disk it didn’t fix anything and I still haven’t gotten into my original OS aside from the first day of the blue screens where I got in for like one minute at a time. Anyways hoping this cpu is faulty or I’m out of luck. Any thoughts from the forum would be great. Thanks
