I am thinking it is video card related, but not looking to drop 250 to 300 on a new card if not needed

Solution
It is a card error. #1)... Start by entering bios and loading optimized defaults and then save and exit. Disable anything else OC the card MVP lucid, ccc, msi afterburner, trixx. reboot and try it.

I have noted that the display is action odd. Normal letter/words will change size and definition but I can clear it by resizing window. It will return. This is what is making me think is it related to the ATI Raideon 4800 display card. This unit was built as a gaming/work machine. It is the only card in system, everything else is motherboard installed. So I guess I am out to get a new display board
