Hopefully i am in the right section, i have put my problem in the windows 11 section but this was also happening on windows 10 in the past 5-6 months ( I ended up quiting pc gaming because i hit a dead end).

Basically i am getting constant BSOD and have done everything i can think of, even downloading dodgey money grabbing driver installer assisting programs to try and find the problem. The latest BSOD info from WhoCrashed is here:

On Thu 30/12/2021 11:10:27 your computer crashed or a problem was reported
crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\123021-6421-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: win32kbase.sys (0xFFFF91A118CED0B6)
Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFF91A118CED0B6, 0xFFFFA60C80336A90, 0x0)
Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\win32kbase.sys
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: Base Win32k Kernel Driver
Bug check description: This indicates that an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
The crash took place in a Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system that cannot be identified at this time.

Now this BSOD is one of many and never the same i have the rest saved on my mobiles camera roll as the dump files i had on the others are lost since i have wiped and freshly installed windows a few times and this did nothing.

Quick background info:
No new hardware
Done SFC /scannow all that they never come up with any problems
Seems to happen more during gaming but can sometimes be random ( start pc up do something else come back and pc is dead)
Not sure if normal but pc once BSOD will not restart or if it does will restart into another BSOD til i manually reset pc
Wiped OS several times
Drivers all up to date according to intel driver assist/nvidia/windows

What speed is your memory set to in your BIOS? If higher than 2133, drop to that level and test your system for stability after.

  1. Open Windows File Explore
  2. Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump
  3. Copy the mini-dump files out onto your Desktop
  4. Do not use Winzip, use the built in facility in Windows
  5. Select those files on your Desktop, right click them and choose 'Send to' - Compressed (zipped) folder
  6. Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.)
  7. Then post a link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you . . .

I’m willing to bet that your driver installer software has made the problem worse and not better. Please don’t ever use those utilities as they often screw up machines to this point

To be fair thankfully i never actually installed anything off them because they always wanted me to pay, i just used them to see if anything needed updating which it said basically everything intel needed updating but i downloaded intel driver assist and that said everything was fine 🤷‍♂️.
Just so frustrating not being able to play anything

KERNEL_AUTO_BOOST_INVALID_LOCK_RELEASE
ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY What failed: USBXHCI.SYS
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED What failed: dxgmms2.sys
EXCEPTION_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP What failed: afd.sys
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED-AREA What failed: win32kfull.sys
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED <---- few more of these no What failed attached to them

i can guess some
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED What failed: dxgmms2.sys = GPU drivers
EXCEPTION_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP What failed: afd.sys = LAN drivers, either WIFI or Ethernet, which ever you use.
KERNEL_AUTO_BOOST_INVALID_LOCK_RELEASE = is normally LAN drivers as well.

rest aren't so obvious. I have to ask a friend to check dumps, he post later. He may not have an answer for you but will have a link for me.

3rd party driver updaters could be cause of BSOD. Shame ASUS driver updater is pretty crap.

can run this to fix GPU errors = https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq...n-install-of-your-video-card-drivers.2402269/
Asus claim to make the wifi on board, I suspect its Realtek but I won't know until i see dump results.
If you use ethernet, run https://www.intel.com.au/content/www/au/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html and see if newer LAN drivers.

Yes its realtek i disabled it in device manager as i only use ethernet anyway and according to Intel driver assist its completly up to date hopefully that sorts that issue.
I'll play games and see what BSOD does me again and update once i get one. Just strange how it started doing it a few months ago, havent had time play much anyway and just left it but finally getting couple hours to play of a night so super frustrating now.

Hi, I ran the dump file through the debugger and got the following information: https://jsfiddle.net/f9anu5vo/show This link is for anyone wanting to help. You do not have to view it. It is safe to "run the fiddle" as the page asks.

File information:123021-6421-01.dmp (Dec 30 2021 - 06:10:27)
Bugcheck:SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3B)
Probably caused by:memory_corruption (Process: dwm.exe)
Uptime:0 Day(s), 0 Hour(s), 06 Min(s), and 56 Sec(s)

Possible Motherboard page: https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z370-e-gaming-model/
You have the latest stable BIOS already installed. There is a beta but I usually recommend against them unless there is a need for it.

This information can be used by others to help you. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.

Have you ever removed the CPU to inspect the socket for damaged/missing pins? Since this problem existed with both Win 10 and Win 11, it implies this may be more of a hardware issue.

When you installed Win 11, was it an upgrade from 10, or a full/clean install?

DWM.exe = Windows Desktop manager. It sits between applications and Graphics card drivers.

So if you ran DDU in safe mode and reinstalled Drivers, it may have fixed it -

Are you running Corsair link?

there are newer realtek Audio drivers on here - https://rog.asus.com/au/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z370-e-gaming-model/helpdesk_download (need to look under win 10, they didn't show them all under win 11)

Never touched cpu only thing i have changed in the 3-4 years i have had it is the ram a year ago, only time i even open the tower up is for a clean every couple months.
It was an upgrade install of windows, should i try wipe it all again you think and see if going straight to windows 11 helps?

No idea what corsair link is sorry, guessing not since i have never heard of it. I will look at the newer audio drivers now. I will also do a fresh graphics card install

It is the drivers for your AIO. I just should have looked at your specs. Its probably okay, I don't see a date on the drivers here -
I would have expected the AIO to use Icue, my H100i RGB Platinum uses Icue.

To be honest i didn't even know AIO needed drivers windows must have just updated that, I will install Icue might as well just to see if it helps. Just done the clean graphics card install from ealier post you linked, gonna try it on New World as that game seems to blue screen me 3-4 times before it works so ill know straight away it that helped at all

i think link is for your device, I know I see it sometimes and as your AIO still shows Link as its drivers, I expect there is a reasson.

Any more errors?
None so far and I've been playing it more than usual. I did the fresh graphics drivers install as linked, disabled the wifi hardware since i use ethernet anyway and Icue. All seems good so far this is the longest I've gone without a blue screen it was usually 2-3 times before it stopped happening when gaming. Fingers crossed it was just something when graphics card updated, i suspected graphics card since that New World game had graphics card issues with many people and that game was constant bsod. If any bsod happens again I'll update you all but in the mean time thanks for all the help!

Ok im back and this last BSOD i thought killed me pc. I am starting to think its a motherboard issue just because it says this last BSOD is a usb fault and my pc would not boot at all for like 10 mins.
Would power on but would not give me the boot beep. It also BSOD a couple of days ago just the once (both times while gaming).
The hidclass.sys fault is what caused the 10min bricking (removing power cable and leaving for 5 mins solved this)
