Hi all,

Ive got a BSOD issue that im struggling with for days now.
I've build a a new Pc 3months ago

-Ryzen 7 3700x
-geforce RTX2070 super
-MSI X570 Tomahawk wifi
-Corsair DDR4 vengeance rgb pro 2x8gb 3600
-PSU Corsair RM650
-Kingston A2000 1tb SSD

After a week random BSOD start appearing mostly during use of the web browsers or general windows usage but never during gaming.
these are always different messages.
I could live with the problem at that moment because it was never during gaming, and would sort it out when i had a few days time.
Then a week ago the BSOD start coming more frequent sometimes right after startup a few times in a row, but when i launched a game it would stop aslong as I was in game .
I took the decision to do a clean install of windows that's when problems really started.
After the Installation during the first setup (where you select location, keyboard style, ...) I received a BSOD again.
This got stuck in a loop where every time i got a BSOD somewhere during the set-up of windows.
Then I tried following things:
-Bios soft reset
-Bios Hard reset
-ram settings: standard profile, A-XMP: 3200mhz-3600mhz
-Memtest86+ for 8passes
-Tried a different HDD with SSD removed
-Tried ram stick one by one
-Bios update
-windows instal from 2 different USB 1original MS - 1created from the MS website
All resulted with BSOD during windows install or set-up.
So im now stuck in this loop.

My first thought was driver issues but after not able to complete the install on a different HDD without BSOD im thinking it must be hardware related?

The BSODs I received are:
-driver_irql_not_less_or_equal
-Kernel_Security_check_failure
-kernel auto boost lock acquisition with raised IRQL
-Kmode exeption not handled
-Attempted execute of no execute memory
-APC index mismatch

and more...

Anny thoughts and help would greatly be appreciated .

run minimum configuration, remove any unnecessary devices:
only CPU with cooler, motherboard, one RAM, GPU, PSU
try installing windows freshly with Microsoft´s windows media creation tool from USB
Did run minimum configuration and try to instal from a windows media creation tool from USB, got a bit further in installation and after 5 BSOD even got Windows installed. Now i log on in windows and get a random BSOD after a minute or so.
I did manage to enter safe mode without BSOD

Possible Motherboard page: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-X570-TOMAHAWK-WIFI
You are using the latest BETA BIOS, version 1.41.

1st crash was in storage, do you have raid? its possible it uses raid for nvme transactions
2nd crash is gpu drivers. Fact DWM.exe crashed is a clue, its the windows desktop manager. It sits between windows and GPU
3rd crash is storage again
4th is unclear, could be mouse?
5th I was going to blame on GPU drivers again (DWM.exe) but I can see mouse actions in stack text
6th I am not sure about
7th looks like mouse again
8th is unclear
9th is as well
10th could be GPU drivers. it has directX in the stack text and most of the time that is a GPU problem.

so after all that
I would update these
Oct 02 2019nvlddmkm.sysNvidia Graphics Card driver
based on driver date I assume you got them from Windows update? try getting newer from NVidia.

what mouse do you have?

try updating chipset drivers. https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/x570 since you on the beta bios.

are the ram sticks on the compatible ram list on motherboard website? https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/MAG-X570-TOMAHAWK-WIFI#support-mem-19

update nic drivers, 3rd link under windows header - https://www.realtek.com/en/componen...0-1000m-gigabit-ethernet-pci-express-software

new Wifi drivers on here - https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/MAG-X570-TOMAHAWK-WIFI#down-bios

Ok thank you for the reply,

The ram sticks are on the motherboards compatible list.
installed the latest chipset drivers.
installed the latest wifi and nic drivers
installed latest geforce drivers.

The BSOD are still happening but sometimes I have like 5min inside windows now without a BSOD.

The mouse im using yesterday was a different one then my standard one just for the cause of ruling everything out, now im back on my logitec g502 running it wired now (bluetooth dongle not installed yet)

For the ram 2133mhz gave the same results.

The nvlddmkm.sys file is a NVIDIA graphics card driver. There are a few things you can do to fix this problem. First off, try a full uninstall using DDU in Safe Mode then re-install the driver (more information). Or try getting the latest version of the driver. Or try one of the 3 most recent drivers released by NVIDIA. Drivers can be found here: http://www.nvidia.com/ or you can allow Windows Update to download the driver for you, which might be a older/better version.

Errors from Thursday -
1. could be nvidia drivers or WIFI drivers
4 is all mouse stuff.
5 was Nvidia.

I missed some errors so here is the post above:
1 was caused by
Jul 08 2020Netwtw10.sysIntel Wi-Fi driver
possibly newer WIFI drivers here, only 1 month newer - https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/MAG-X570-TOMAHAWK-WIFI#down-driver&Win10 64
2 mentions HTTP which is hyper text transfer protocol, web related. Probably lan related
3 looks like mouse stuff again
4 isn't clear.
could guess 5 was wifi drivers
I think from memory Kernel Auto Boost Invalid Lock errors are normally LAN drivers as well. I don't see them enough to know for sure

I don't know why so many things point at mouse actions, its not normal.

I would think it is most likely malware running on the machine. to many key windows files were modified, i would guess it is something running as a filter driver that is hacking the system. (or a really stupid anti virus program that attempts to scan network activity)

if you want to find out, you should start cmd.exe as an admin then run
fltmc.exe filters
to show the list of filters installed.
my list shows:

C:\Windows\system32>fltmc filters

Filter Name Num Instances Altitude Frame
------------------------------ ------------- ------------ -----
bindflt 1 409800 0
WdFilter 9 328010 0
storqosflt 0 244000 0
wcifs 0 189900 0
CldFlt 6 180451 0
FileCrypt 0 141100 0
luafv 1 135000 0
npsvctrig 1 46000 0
Wof 7 40700 0
FileInfo 9 40500 0

C:\Windows\system32>

you can unload or remove filters that should not be there.

then I would run the dism.exe command to repair any modified files. then find out how the changes were made . ie check for malware and programs running in task scheduler

Just wanted to post that the issue is resolved. After swapping all components out that i could do myself the issue remained. So brought the pc to a diagnose service, they found that the CPU was faulty. Contacted AMD CPU was tested and new one send within a week. Thx for all the reply’s and support!
