So, I just encountered this problem last night when I played DOTA 2. I got BSOD'ed and my pc restarted. Some matrix things started appearing and when I reached the windows logo screen, I got BSOD again. It was a cycle from then on. Please help me, thanks.

Solution
I would guess that the GPU is overheating and causing artifacts on the screen. It can also happen with a power supply providing improper voltages to the GPU. (check the connections from the power supply to the GPU, change them if you have another potential connector to use)

the bugcheck 0x116 means graphics card not responding.
-make sure you go to BIOS and reset it to defaults (no overclock)
- if you can boot into windows, remove any overclocking software or the CPU and GPU
- check the hardware, make sure the fans on the GPU are spinning up
- blow the dust out of the CPU fan, the Power supply fan, and the Graphics card fan.

you can also get this when memory chips in the GPU get physical problems or if the GPU memory is...

Physical problem would be like: a memory chip pin solder connection failed and is not making proper contact with the GPU motherboard. thermal failure cause by excessive heat/cooling cycles.
