yeah i used wat u mentioned..
i tried to play NFSTR again it crashed...
next tym i opened my pc and runned the bluescreen view it didn't detect any crash

Do you have your recovery set to use a mini dump instead of a full dump? Also did you set windows not to restart on blue screen so you can read the error?

Right Click on “My Computer” and goto “Properties”. Then goto the “Advanced” tab and under the headline “Startup and Recovery”, press the “Settings” button. Untick the “Automatically Restart” box and press Ok.

I used mdsched.exe to schedule a memory diagnostic while booting the results were that there were no errors with my RAM :) . all right but after the test i uninstalled all installed windows updates as a neighbour said it could help.. i did that and the games were running fine. it has been 5days it has been running and now it has come up again with the the same error codes... i did turn off windows updates and there were no updates to install..

yesterday i was searching on google about random bsods and got a thread somewhere that a file named nvlddmkm.sys that may be a cause of these crashes. i searched for it on my pc and the file was found but the thing is that it is not removable......

still i think its ram i'll contact my dealer soon...

hey some interesting thing's happend i hav'nt changed the ram yet as i had xaminations but now wen i ran NFS the run it was runnin!! It has been 2 weeks dat i playd d game now again wen i start it , there is a bsod

during xams once i took a look into the blue screen view software and surprisingly it detected 2 crashes and all the error codes were the same, i have had over 25 crashes till date but only 2 had been recorded, during the 2 weeks that i played nfs again there was no crash to be shown in the blue screen view..... it was lyk magic that it vanished......

and even now there is no crash report... it's been 2 days i has started crashin'. it has crashed 3 times till now and there are no new crash reports.....

is it some type of virus or wat???

about the ram in win xp it showed 2.99 gb ram and its same in win 7 both 32bit...shouldn't there be a variance in this??..............

but the thing is that my bios shows 4096 mb installed and 4086mb available.....

so i'm guessing it to be a problem with ram or a virus....

note: i hav'nt overclocked anything and my drivers are up to date

Well, heres what the first error code means:

0x00000008, or Double Fault, indicates that an exception occurs during a call to the handler for a prior exception. Typically, the two exceptions are handled serially. However, there are several exceptions that cannot be handled serially, and in this situation the processor signals a double fault. There are two common causes of a double fault:

1) A kernel stack overflow. This overflow occurs when a guard page is hit, and the kernel tries to push a trap frame. Because there is no stack left, a stack overflow results, causing the double fault. If you think this overview has occurred, use !thread to determine the stack limits, and then use kb (Display Stack Backtrace) with a large parameter (for example, kb 100) to display the full stack.

2) A hardware problem.

Right now, as the RAM looks OK (nevermind I'd expect various BSOD messages, instead of a constant 0x7f), I'd suspect a motherboard hardware problem.

well i recorded the technical info of another crash the error codes were the same except the 2nd one inside the bracket following is the code

*** STOP : 0*0000007F (0*00000008, 0*8D13750,0*00000000,0*00000000)

AND ANOTHER

*** STOP : 0*0000007F (0*00000008,0*801DD000,0*00000000,0*00000000)

AND ANOTHER

***STOP: 0x1000007f (0x00000008,0x8d139750,0x00000000,0x00000000)

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE???

ALL OF THE THREE HAPPENED TODAY AND; THE CRASHES OCCUR FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS CONTINUALLY AND THEN THE PC IS ALL RIGHT FOR ANOTHER TWO WEEKS...

AND ANOTHER QUESTION is my gpu (amd RADEON hd 6770) compatible with my dell 580s motherboard (i have changed the cabinet and psu)???

and/or most probably wat would the faulty hardware be??

this is something that just caught my eyes.......
i have a 32 bit os but both nfs the run and battlefield 3 have been installed in my earlier 64bit win7 homebasic.... so if i try to uninstall it it says this can be unistalled only on 64 bit operating system this means its settings are in 64 bit confguration. is that causing the problem....

if it is the cause then i can reinstall it but then a question comes to my mind
if that's the problem then how could i even play it once on my 32 bit os?? and i even completed the game before the crashes started on the same os
