BSOD Error.

The problem occurs as I'm playing Minecraft. Randomly after a couple minutes of play, my computer screen just goes completely black and then my gtx 670 throttles its fans real fast. Pressing the reset button stops it and boots up Windows again.

My system specs are:
-Windows 7 Professional 64bit
-ASUS Sabertooth Z77
-Intel Core i7-3770k
-Corsair Dominator GT 32gb Memory
-Geforce GTX 670 4gb SC
-Thermaltake TR2-650w
-A 2tb Hard drive and a dvd reader.

All my drivers are up to date and my bios is also up to date. So I really don't know whats going on.

Its the GPU:

Bug Check 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR

This indicates that an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout failed.

Either an unstable driver, or a problem with the GPU itself. Try a differnet GPU driver version, and if the problem remains, RMA the GPU.

That's it! That's the problem! Stop that...

On a serious note, roll the driver back to a previous version. In fact, use a driver cleaner to completely remove all nVidia drivers and then reinstall.

I removed all the previous drivers and reinstalled. and just in case, I did a complete reinstall of the game as well. So far the problem seems to have stopped.

Quick update about this issue.

The blue screen errors and shut-downs seemed to have been fixed after i uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics drivers. I also reset the CMOS, just because doing so seemed to solve issues in the past. With that being said. Case closed.

(on a side note, i had no idea that they had firmware updates for my card as well. One update and all my games run beastly smooth.)
