Mobo: Asus rig maximums ix hero
GPU: EVGA 1080ti ftw3 hybrid

I just finished my new build and had a weird issue. While installing drivers and software from the discs that came with my mobo and gpu I started getting blue screens.

I used a restore point and found that the problem only occurred after installing both sets. Either one's alone was fine, but when I installed the second set, bsod. I eventually got around it by installing the gpu drivers and software first, then the mobo drivers, but then getting it's software from Asus website.

So does anybody have any idea what was going on? I'm not sure if it's entirely stable yet because I got one more bsod (unresolvable error) when 5 way optimization overcooked my cpu.

Solution
I would do a manual overclock in the bios... if you unsure how to do that, I would ask a question in the overclocking subforum as I have yet to do one myself and every CPU/motherboard is different.
AI Suite can cause BSOD and getting a bsod while overclocking is normal, but shows software pushed too hard. I don't like AI Suites overclock but that is your choice. I would remove it if you get anymore whea Uncorrectable Errors.

Generally you better off getting the drivers off the Asus site instead of the disks only as its more likely to be newer drivers on web site. Same applies to GPU, go to Nvidia site instead of driver disk.

If it's a new build let windows install all updates, only then install your own drivers. Also what Colif said, it's best to download them directly from the manufacturer sites. It was a common issue between win 10 and nvidia, not sure if they solved it.
