[SOLVED] BSOD ntoskrnl.exe+3f72e0 - Need help fixing; dump files attatched

Hi, I've been experiencing daily BSODs ever since being gifted a used PC. I reset the PC and since got increasingly frequent BSODs with usually KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED or IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, with ntoskrnl.exe+3f72e0 being a common denominator, according to BlueScreenView.

Here's the mini dump files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/43mva86nt9yi063/020722-12000-01.zip?dl=0

If it's relevant, my graphics card is Geforce GTX 1050 Ti. I regularly update it, but I read something about updates conflicting w/ each other but idk what that's all about

If anyone can help me out, I'd be eternally grateful! It bums me out being nervous about the next time my OC crashes!

did you mean PC? if you meant Overclock, I would remove it until we figure out cause

crashes aren't obvious. which means we look at drivers

you probably don't need this

The company who made drivers for this have been taken over by Intel and no longer supply drivers that would work with it. I might struggle to find newer WIFI drivers but Ethernet are easier

ETHERNET is newer

I would use a cable and see if it makes any difference.

Solution
Thanks! Yes I meant PC. Do I need to remove XtuAcpiDriver?

I use ethernet, and just updated drivers from the link. Should I try to update wifi if I don't use it?

Dell XPS 8700
CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz
normally next field is MB but tis a DELL
GTX 1050 Ti (Did this come with PC??)
16gb Kingston ram
What storage?

you had it since new? how old is it now? CPU about 7 years old (I had a 4690K)

looking at CPU, that Intel driver wouldn't have done anything anyway as its for overclocking K version CPU.

please give us all the dumps you get. One might show me a clue.

I ran the dump files through the debugger and got the following information: https://jsfiddle.net/s1y0uLrq/show This link is for anyone wanting to help. You do not have to view it. It is safe to "run the fiddle" as the page asks.

I wonder what power supply is like in a possibly 7 year old PC.

nice if dumps had more variety. they at least tell me it wasn't the driver I suggested and that 8th Feb was a very error filled day

So its been crashing ever since you got it?

try running this on CPU - https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/15951/intel-processor-diagnostic-tool.html

Yes, I had ignored the issue because it only happened every week unless I played games, then it was more frequent. It became more crash-heavy as months went by

I ran the intel diagnostic tool and it said the CPU passed all check boxes

try running this, will at least tell us if it is a driver - follow the 3 steps i show before running it - https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/driver-verifier-instructions.3686888/

Done. First try, BSOD before getting to windows, and stuck at BSOD after rebooting. I restored. Same thing happened second time, but managed to enter safe mode after holding power button at stuck BSOD. BSOD says Driver_Verifier_Detected_Violation and What Failed: RtsUer.sys.

Here is the one minidump I got: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2anwq69s54c7fht/verifier minidump.zip?dl=0

Failed: RtsUer.sys

I agree, that's what the dump says. https://jsfiddle.net/r09pbgwc/show

love to tell you what caused those. I would run driver verifer and see if it finds anything else.

No card reader drivers showing in list at all now.

curious what this is
Jul 05 2021ftdibus.sysFTDIBUS USB driver (FTDI Ltd.) http://www.ftdichip.com/
Jul 05 2021ftser2k.sysFTDIBUS Serial Device driver (FTDI Ltd.) http://www.ftdichip.com/
digital USB serial port?

might be newer sound drivers but I am not going to mess with those unless I need to.

Ran driver verifier again, no BSODs for 36 hours. I disabled verifier, rebooted, and used the PC normally. After a few hours, the PC then restarted by itself while I was away, I suspect it was a BSOD since there's a new file in the minidump

Here are dump files for today and on the 10th: https://www.dropbox.com/s/n0fe7xyz9catjbd/yes.zip?dl=0

I uninstalled the card reader out of frustration; hopefully that's not bad since I don't use it much.

Should I update the FTDIBUS USB drivers?

first crash mentions Xbox controller drivers right at end of error chain.
xusb22.sys, its a microsoft driver, could be the controller?
I don't see it crash very often, had to look it up to see what it was.

5th crash blames this: iaStorE.sys
Sep 18 2019iaStorE.sysIntel SATA Storage Device RAID Controller
try removing Intel Rapid Storage Technology app

Try running memtest86 on each of your ram sticks, one stick at a time, up to 4 passes. Only error count you want is 0, any higher could be cause of the BSOD. Remove/replace ram sticks with errors.
Memtest is created as a bootable USB so that you don’t need windows to run it

Gotcha. I do use an Xbox controller regularly.

Should the Intel Rapid Storage Technology app be in the Apps and Features list? I can't seem to find it.

I had run memtest86 a few days ago on all my ram sticks at once, with four passes without errors. Should I try it again?

no, its unlikely to have changed a lot in a few days

Intel suggest this
go to windows\system32\drivers, and rename iastora.sys to iastora.sys.tmp
https://community.intel.com/t5/Rapi...sys-from-windows-10-so-that-I-can/td-p/637299
but you could probably use Autoruns to stop/uninstall it - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns

i can tell the internet was involved in last crash , i don't know if that means anything though. I already asked about Ethernet at start and WiFi shouldn't be in use, Sorry I can't offer much more on error.
