BSOD on multiple systems when portable hdd is connected

Hi guys,
i get a BSOD error stating NTFS every time i connect my seagate hdd to my system.
i have tried it on my laptop and desktop both running windows 8.1 and 7 respectively.However when i connected it to my friends Mac its working fine.i donno whats wrong.
i have tried in safemode but it was of no use.what should i do inorder to make my hdd work on my systems without losing the data on the Hdd. kindly help as soon as possible.

I'd suggest to update the portable HDD's firmware, you should be able to find that on your HDD manufacturer's website.
There you will also find a diagnostics tool, I'd strongly recommend to use to test the drive and see it's health status.
Another thing you could try is uninstalling the drivers under USB controllers in Device Manager (in one of your Windows systems) to see if that would make the issue go away.
If you can still access it on your Mac, I'd recommend you to back up the data from that external hard drive as well.

thank you for speedy reply.
every time i connect the hdd its giving an BSOD.I am unable to even loging to my pc .i tried to uninstall and reinstall the usb drivers not working.Also its getting detected in BIOS and in safe mode, if it does not enter into BSOD then in wont get detected. In such situations is there any way i can update the firmware??. my friend who has Mac is out of town for at least a couple of weeks i will back up all the data once he's back.
