BSOD on Sleep Mode Windows 7 - 64Bit Help! :(

Hello All,

So I posted the issue below in italics on a few forums and in the new systems build section of these forums. After looking into my major issue a bit more... I am finding piece by piece that this is tied to when the computer goes to sleep. Apparently the error that I am getting is not very common. I really need help from someone that could read .DMP files and analyze what the heck is going on. This is killing me. I did get one physical memory dump error while surfing the net yesterday but that was after it came out of sleep mode again. I tested the memory through windows memory check and a few other programs. Memory came back ok. I see other people are having similar issues but there is no solution out there. Anyone that could help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

So I just built a new computer over the weekend w/ a Sabertooth P67 motherboard. And I am having 2 seperate issues(one is a minor issue) and I am completely stumped. The first and major issue I am having is I keep getting random BSOD errors which flash on and turn off my computer. It appears to be a physical memory dump error. The last time this happened which was about an hour ago.. I was downstairs so when I powered it on I had to dig through the logs. The event log under system shows this:


The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000f4 (0x0000000000000003, 0xfffffa800dc21b30, 0xfffffa800dc21e10, 0xfffff800031968b0). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 120611-6255-01.:


The first thing I'm thinking is a memory issue so I run a few memory scans and they all come back fine. I am thinking it may be a driver issue that I have to update? Everything is brand new on this computer. Here are my specs(what I believe is important for this issue anyways)::


Windows 7 64-Bit Professional
Asus Sabertooth P67(revision 3.0) LGA 1155
Intel Core i7-2600k Proc
Corsair Vengance 16GB DDR3 1600 RAM
OCZ Vertex 3 120GB Sata III SSD (used as my main)
WD Caviar Blue 320GB (used as secondary)
Plus a video card, dvd drive, etc...


Also the other issue I am seeing which is a bit minor compared to my BSOD issue but it's driving me nuts also. When windows 7 boots up, the mouse cursor is frozen for a few seconds and I notice the network is "limited access" for a few seconds. Almost like it has to reload the drivers every time which is weird. Any ideas? Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated. I have been banging my head on my keyboard over this haha. I am so close to actually enjoying my new computer!

Hello,

Lets double check some of the basics first...

- Make sure all your drivers are up to date including your motherboard drivers.
- Update your SSD firmware. *take note to the warnings on the site about updating your firmware.
- Make sure windows 7 is up to date.

Now, in your case I would check that your BIOS is updated as well. I noticed the recent one 1904 has a description of "Improve system stability".

Also, what controller do you have your SSD plugged into?

Try the things I listed and let me know how that goes. I'll check back.

Thank you very much for the response! I really appreciate it. I did confirm that my SSD firmare is the most up to date. I just updated my chipset driver and my bios(the rest were up to date from what I can tell). I forced it to sleep mode several times and so far no BSOD! I will monitor it and test it as hard as I could for about a week. If I see any issues I will let you know for sure.

By chance do you know what's causing my mouse to freeze up for a few seconds when windows first boots up? The network connection and mouse seem to take 5-10 seconds to actually load before I can even move the mouse. Is that a feature on the motherboard? I've used Windows 7 for awhile now and never had this issue on other computers.

What usb port is your mouse plugged into? Your motherboard has both 2.0 and 3.0 ports. The USB 3.0 ports are run by the NEC controller where the 2.0 are from the intel p67 chipset. *If its connected to a blue port its in the usb 3.0 port, swap it over to the 2.0 port.

Try connecting the mouse to a couple different ports to see if the problem persist. Make sure the mouse drivers are installed. And lastly boot into safe mode and let me know if the extended pause persist.

As for the network connection, are you hardwired to your router/modem using the motherboards connection? Or do you have a wireless connection to your AP?

Thanks for the quick response! I just installed the latest driver software. Still the same issue. I also tried moving around to different USB ports. Still the same issue. Both my mouse and keyboard are plugged into USB 2.0 ports. I even tried disabling all software that boots up through msconfig/startup. Didn't make a difference either. Everything works great after a few seconds of waiting when windows first starts up. But I know my mouse should just work right away. Same with my internet connection. There is one program that starts on bootup... but requires an internet connection. It keeps telling me there is no connection and once I get control of my mouse I have to reset the program and have it reconnect since my internet connection is working by then. My internet connection is wired directly from mb to my router.

I will try booting into safe mode now.

Hmmm not sure what else could be causing your mouse and network issues. If you have a spare mouse to try you could see if that one has the same effect. Narrow it down to the system at least. Have you tweaked your BIOS at all?

At least you got your windows 7 BSOD issue fixed up though. =)

That's true. I can live w/ the mouse loading slow haha. But I have some bad news.... BSOD just came back. I was on the other side of the room and the computer just randomly BSOD(without ever going into sleep mode). I look through the system log in event viewer and there it is....
