I just purchased and installed a Samsung 970 Plus 2TB SSD. (It is a refurbished unit from Best Buy.) All tools indicate that the drive is perfectly healthy- low hours, low power on, etc. I formatted the drive and did a data migration via Magician. When I rebooted afterwards, I got the blue screen, stating that the drive needs repair through recovery tools. This shouldn’t be. I can boot perfectly with the original C drive; I would assume that the data migration operation exactly copied my existing drive to the new drive.
Two issues to note: 1) Depending on the tool in use at the time, the drive is sometimes identified as “Samsung SSD 970 Pro 512 GB,” instead of 970 Plus 2TB.
2) Right clicking on the drive in File Explorer brings up the message, “Drive Not Accessible, Access Denied.”
Should I reformat as a first step? Or attempt the migration again? Thanks.
