I upgraded to windows 10 when it first came out from windows 8. I used to get display driver has recovered after the screen flickered black, started about 6 months ago. It didnt do it right away on windows 10 but is starting to do it again. Also Since upgrading to windows 10, this last week the BSOD started happening and I get page fault in non paged area. Im not sure that this is the only error each time as a couple times I have not been at my computer to view it and it happens so fast I Cant always read it.

I did not find any outdated drivers. I did update my display drivers even though it said they werent out of date. I do not know if this has fixed the screen going black yet.

Ive still been getting the bsod with the page fault on non paged area error. Almost everyday! I havent seen the black screen yet since I updated drivers.

I have windows 10 home.

Unfortunately, HP has not gotten around to releasing Windows 10 drivers for the HP Envy Recline 27 on their website. I would contact them directly as they may have developed model specific drivers that are compatible but not yet listed on the product page for your unit. They might also say that Windows 10 has the necessary drivers, but in almost every case the native windows drivers are hit and miss as far as what is working and what is not. I'm sure HP will eventually release the product specific chipset, .inf and other hardware drivers, but for now the 8.1 drivers are all that's available on the website. There are no other sources.

Thank you, when I went in and looked at system stuff it looked like a lot was wrong.. I forget what exactly it said but looked like it was missing drivers for a lot. I hate windows 8 though!! I hate this nightly shut down!

If you network adapter is working, and you can get online with that machine, you can at least TRY going into device manager in control panel, and right clicking on any of the remarked devices then selecting "update driver software" and then "update automatically" to see if perhaps there are drivers available that have not been automatically installed. A lot of times there are.

Otherwise, I might suggest reverting to your Windows 8.1 installation, performing a system refresh and then installing Classic shell which causes the start menu and desktop to look and act just like Windows 7 or even XP if you want it to. No metro screens if you don't want them and no stupid lack of a taskbar and start menu. At least until there are drivers released for your platform.

I went through and updated all the drivers. Left my computer off all day turned it on and within a half hour got the bsod. It seems to happen at the very same time every night. Not sure why it would do it at the same time every night but something must get triggered.

Do you begin using the computer at about the same time every night? That might be why. Heh.

What is the full model number of your unit? There should be a couple more numbers listed after hp envy recline 27, like 27-xxx, listed on the model number sticker which is probably on the back of the unit.

I usually start using it around 2-3pm but today I didnt start it up until around 7 i think and then it shut off a half hour 45 min later. I cant see any model on the back. but then its a little dark too. It says hp envy recline 27 touchsmart and thats all i can find.

There are HP Envy Recline touchsmart 27-K009, K117C and others. They are likely to all have somewhat different hardware. I'd pull the unit out to check better or find your original purchase receipt or documentation, to determine the exact model. I cannot find you the correct drivers or bios updates without knowing that information.
