BSOD Ryzen build

I recently built a new ryzen system (1700x)
I booted ok went to windows and everything was fine for 10 seconds then I got the BSOD windows screen saying "Asl0.sys" failed.

This machine isnt 100% new
The new parts are, 1700x ryzen, MSI x370 gaming pro carbon, 16 gigs of corsair lpx vengeance ram, and a new case a 450d.

I am reusing my HDD and SSD, windows was on the SSD, I am also reusing my gtx 970 card, I also am reusing my corsair cm600 PSU.

I tried resetting my drives, but it crashed during that and now doesnt say i have windows at all so I will be leaving to best buy soon for a new copy of win10

My question I guess is, was it switching from the intel i5 4 something chip? I didnt update the bios before i reset the drives because im stupid.

The fact that you didn't do a clean Windows install the the most likely reason.

You can't just move the drive from one computer with Windows already installed on it to another computer and expect it to work correctly (or at all with anything older than Windows 10). You must reinstall Windows.
