Hi! I have been a constant visitor to Tom's Hardware and I am recently having trouble with a BSOD whenever I'm just idling on Chrome (using Facebook, YouTube, etc.). I noticed that this was happening earlier last month and I have been researching online ever since.
So far I have found no solution as to how to fix this. I have seen threads that say "Make sure that your video card drivers are up to date" but the problem is that they already are and I can't really be bothered to "downgrade" to another driver.

My system has the following hardware & software:
CPU: AMD FX-8320
GPU: Sapphire Radeon DUAL-X R9 280X Boost OC
PSU: Corsair CX750M
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 120GB
HDDs: 2 X 1TB Seagate Baracuda
MB: GA-990FXA-UD3
RAM: 8GB 1600Mhz DDR3 Kingston HyperX
Keyboard: Stealseries Apex [RAW]
Mouse: Razer Abyssus
Primary webcam: Logitech C270
Secondary webcam: Microsoft LifeCam
OS: Windows 8.1
Drivers: All required drivers (Chipset, AHCI, etc.)

I have a minidump file and I know how to analyse is so I will post the information below! Thank you for taking your time reading this and I look forward to trying out some solutions!
- Tom

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: ffffffffc0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: fffff800db5c5dbb, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: ffffd000f550c0a8, Exception Record Address
Arg4: ffffd000f550b8b0, Context Record Address

When you reinstalled you should get a log. If any one of sections says failure, the drivers didn't fully install.
It should look similar to this:

Hi, KyleADunn!
Thank you for your fast reply but unfortunately I have done this many times. Thank you for your help though! :)

Once again, thanks for your reply!
I have opened that same file to check whether the installation was a success and there were no errors/fails. Just "success".

Okay, I have gone onto here and I have gone down to the flash animation and right clicked and clicked on settings. On there, I have disabled hardware acceleration and I hope this works. Did I disable it correctly? Is there any way on trying to "recreate" the BSOD to see whether it gives in and displays the BSOD again?

Hi there I have the exact same issue as you with the exact same 3D card and driver.
Started happening with the new 14.xx drivers of AMD to me.

We'll have to disable hardware acceleration until AMD releases a new driver I guess.

Unless somebody else has a magical solution to this :)

I am having the exact same problem, and I have found out that it's being caused by a faulty driver. try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver and see if that fixes the problem.
