Hello all,

First excuse my english if it's not that good.
I'm posting here since I've tried a looot of possible fix I found across many forums.
So I'm on a laptop, a Lenovo Legion Y530, and I simply cannot activate my GPU (Nvidia Geforce 1050) since it cause BSOD everytime, instantly.
Basicaly, when I'm on normal Windows mode, I cannot even install any drivers for my graphics cars since the BSOD appears instantly, what I can do is install the drivers in safe mode but my PC won't reboot then. I'll have to go back in safe mode to disable the GPU to make him boot again.
I don't know what to do. I changed my ram, same problem. Run a chkdsk, no problem, run the windows memory diagnostic, no problem. Tried many drivers, same problem. Changed the size of the exchange file, same problem.
Everything looks like my GPU has died from nowhere but the only thing bringing me some hope, is that my GPU can be recognize and update while in safe mode, and that the report from whocrashed say that it's not likely to be caused by an hardware problem.

Here's a look at the minidump by whocrashed :

On Tue 08/06/2021 22:45:12 your computer crashed or a problem was reported
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\060821-15546-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: nvlddmkm.sys (0xFFFFF80431A3510B)
Bugcheck code: 0x50 (0xFFFFE67F6DA54C50, 0x2, 0xFFFFF80431A3510B, 0x2)
Error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
product: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 359.46
company: NVIDIA Corporation
description: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 359.46
Bug check description: This indicates that invalid system memory has been referenced.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 359.46 , NVIDIA Corporation).
Google query: nvlddmkm.sys NVIDIA Corporation PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

As I cannot afford me a new "gaming" PC I'd like to have help from other people with more knowledge than me in this domain.
Thank you.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

I think you might be having multiple problems to prevent you from installing the drivers on your laptop. Just to start off, did you make sure that you're on the latest BIOS version for your laptop? You can use the S/N on the bottom of your laptop in Lenovo's support page to bring up their support items for the laptop you have.

As for the OS, what version of Windows 10 are you on? Ideally you should be in version 21H1. As for the drivers, manually install all of your laptop's drivers in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator. Install the drivers in this order, chipset/MEI>audio>networking>storage>graphics.

You're also using a very old driver for that laptop's GPU. You should source the latest drivers from Nvidia's support site. When uninstalling GPU drivers, always use DDU. Reboot, then manually install the GPU drivers in the above mentioned elevated command.

Thank's for the reply.

I checked my BIOS and he's up to date.
I will try to re-install other drivers as an admin as you mentionned.
And for my GPU drivers, I installed the very latest version available on the Nvidia Support (466.63), the problem is that the kernel driver (the nvlddmkm.sys file) always stay the same.

So, it didn't worked.

I tried something else, to replace the nvlddmkm.sys file with another one from the most recent driver.

The dump is the same as the others except the driver is the one up to date.
I can't understand what the "This indicates that invalid system memory has been referenced. " means.

The major problem with it except being able to game on my PC is that I have an external monitor which is not recognize when I plug him. It was working fine the time my GPU didn't crashed, but since then I cannot be in dual screen. I don't know how I can make the Intel UHD Graphics 630 handle the HDMI port.
