I've put together a PC from used components and all I have left to do is formating hdd and instaling new OS. Trouble is, I can't do that it seems. I it always gets me to blue screen. I've tried two different usbs, one with windows 7 and the other with win 10. Neither of them are working. Hdd and mobo have been tested and worked properly before, separately, but they never worked together. In BIOS, hdd is properly detected and everything seems to be in order, but when i try to boot from usb it gets me to bsod.

H77 pro4/mvp mobo
1.5 tb sata 2 hdd
I5 2500
2x4 gb ddr3 ram

Hey there again, @kormet!

What about checking if you will be able to create the installation media with a different USB flash drive? If you haven't done this already, I'd advise you to give it a try. I'd also suggest you go to the BIOS settings and make sure that the USB ports are enabled for booting. Another thing you should check is your computer/motherboard manufacturer's official website and make sure you have the latest BIOS version installed. If you have another computer, you could try creating the bootable media with the latest BIOS version from there.

Let me know how it goes.

Hey there, @kormet!

I'd advise you to check your boot priority order in the BIOS first and make sure that the USB is listed there. Another thing that could help is resetting the BIOS and then manually re-configure all the changes you have made in the settings so far.
I'd also recommend you check the settings that concern the USB ports on your motherboard. The issue could also be coming from the USB flash drive itself. Something in the installation media could be corrupted, so it's probably a good idea to recreate the bootable Win OS media.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! :)

I've tried all of that, nothing works. I've tried making bootable usbs with rufus with every variation possible, but it either doesnt recognise it as bootable, gets me to blue screen or tells me there is something wrong with usb. What really baffles me is that everything is detected properly in bios.
