[SOLVED] BSOD when closing Valorant IRQLnotless or equal

So this happened 3 times already to me, I tried everything to updating bios, deleting and uninstalling Valorant, checking my laptop for faulty hardware nothing is wrong with my laptop, and updating everything, and checking for errors in cmd. I emailed this to riot and they just gave me the same reply and i gave them logs too

Specs are ryzen 3 3250u with vega 3 graphics with 8gigs of ram, it's a asus vivobook laptop


anyone knows whats going on?

i wonder if its vgk.sys having a conflict. vgk.sys = Vanguard anti cheat. If you crash exiting game, maybe.

Try a clean boot and see if it changes anything - make sure to read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any microsoft services or windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

if clean boot fixes it, it shows its likely a startup program. You should, over a number of startups. restart the programs you stopped to isolate the one that is to blame.

Do you use any other anti cheat programs for other games? VGK.sys doesn't get along with some of them.

I don't appreciate vanguard, it has more access to your PC than drivers do, it thinks It owns the PC its installed on. Its been known to block other programs from running. If it wasn't needed for Valorant I would call it a virus.

Nope I don't have any other games except valorant I ran a malwarebytes scan yesterday and it found 19 malwares I thought that might be a problem

it might have been malware. Try clean boot if it happens again and see if it helps. Otherwise we look at what drivers might be cause but I didn't see any that stood out. Crash only mentions VGK.sys

Yup the clean boot solution probably fixed it temporarily and it's probably because of valorants new update

I guessed again. No indication what it doesn't like really.

Great if you could run some check in Vanguard to see what its conflicting with now.

Only non standard driver you have is open vpn. That would be only thing I would see it might not like. rest of drivers are pretty standard. AMD, Realtek & ASUS drivers. Nothing else.

have you run clean boot again? Does it still crash?

What is loading at startup in a standard boot?

I have been here before with this thing, it might be a choice. Get BSOD or Not play Valorant.

I haven't tried clean boot again will try later and only cortana, microsoft one drive, opera gx browser assistant, windows security notif, and vanguard tray notif is running on startup
