For the last week or so, I have not been able to connect to the internet on my HP Notebook 15 Laptop in any form due to a blue screen of death error when attempting to do so. A few seconds after I log in to my router, blue screen, same with connecting an ethernet cable, because I tried that too. The BSoD error is the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. And that's driver related, I discovered, but even if I update, roll back, uninstall and let Windows reinstall the WiFi adapter and family controller drivers for me, it still gives me this error. Hell, I even tried completely resetting the computer and that didn't solve anything either. No idea what to do here. Also, there isn't any minidump files that I could find caused by this. I am running Windows 8.

Solution
The only few things I can offer as a fix for this is.
Run this command to enable legacy device, open command prompt as admin: BCDEDIT /SET {DEFAULT} BOOTMENUPOLICY LEGACY

Next, while in command prompt as admin run these commands: SFC /SCANNOW and CHKDSK /F C:
You will need to reboot after typing in CHKDSK /f C:

Other than that, do you have a restore point for your PC when you know the internet worked without getting the BSOD?
