I hope I'm in the right section for this I just built a new system and everything works up until I try to install win xp. I get the BSOD saying:

A problem has been detected & windows shut down to prevent damage.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error message yada yada.

Tech Info: Stop: 0x0000007E (0xc0000005, 0xF748EDBF, 0xF 78DA208,
0xF78D9F08)

pci.sys- address F748E0BF Base at F748000, DateStamp 3b7d855c

This is my rig:
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P P45 775 R (ver. 1.6)
CPU INTEL|C2Q Q9400 2.66G 775 45N R
MEM 2Gx2|OCZ OCZ2G10664GK R
PSU COOLMAX|CU-700B 700W RT
ASUS DRW 22 B1S DVD Burner
Seagate ST350041DAS 500Gb Sata HD
VGA ZOTAC|ZT-95TEK2M-FSL 9500GT R 1Gb 128 bit

This is a whole new beast for me. I do older computers. I've never messed with Sata drives or Pcie 2.0 slots. Bios finds all the drives. I'm stumped.
Can someone unstump me please?

Solution
If it's a previous install, you've still got old drivers on that drive. It's recommended to do a fresh install of windows when switching motherboards.

Yeah, it worked ok I just needed to get it halfway running so I could make sure everything worked.
I finally broke down and scraped up some cash and got Windows 7.
Thanks.
