i've been playing monster hunter world a ton recently (100+ hours) until recently my game started crashing at random times with no error codes and so far i've gotten two bsods. the first time was a couple of days ago but i wasn't at the desk to catch the error code but i do have the DMP file here.

i thought it was maybe a one time thing so i play again today for a couple of hours and then i get a crash so i'm thinking i should reinstall the game and see it that helps, only to get a bsod within an hour. i caught the error code this time and it was "kernel auto boost invalid lock release" with the DMP file here.

i look in the event viewer and i'm not quite sure what to look for. here are some error messages i got from the first BSOD:

  • The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID Windows.SecurityCenter.WscDataProtection and APPID Unavailable to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
  • The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000003b (0x00000000c0000005, 0xfffff8023be3ff5d, 0xffffb80510a13950, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: c02298a6-2a89-4c96-8fae-dc12544f34de.
  • The local adapter does not support an important Low Energy controller state to support peripheral mode. The minimum required supported state mask is 0x491f7fffff, got 0x1fffffff. Low Energy peripheral role functionality will not be available.
  • The AMDRyzenMasterDriver service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the path specified.
  • Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation.
and for the second BSOD that happened today:
  • The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {6B3B8D23-FA8D-40B9-8DBD-B950333E2C52} and APPID {4839DDB7-58C2-48F5-8283-E1D1807D0D7D} to the user NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE SID (S-1-5-19) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
  • Name resolution for the name wpad timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.
  • The AMDRyzenMasterDriver service failed to start due to the following error: nThe system cannot find the path specified.
  • The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000162 (0xffff940f49af5700, 0xfffff8021e9ce480, 0x00000000ffffffff, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 88ab5753-ef0d-47d5-82f2-bf70fdcbbbd9.

my PC specs are:
  • 1600 with a very light OC @ 3.7ghz (did this ages ago)
  • msi gaming pro b350m
  • 2080
  • 16gb ram running @ 2933mhz
  • seasonic foucs plus 650w
cpu, mb, ram are 2 years old while gpu and psu are 1 year old. my temps are pretty normal. i've been monitoring my gpu and i've never seen it go over 75c, i haven't been monitoring my cpu though. my drivers are up to date although there is a new nvidia update released just now that i'll be downloading.

can someone please help me out here? thank you
