Hello, I have been experiencing BSOD's for almost 6 months now. I have taken the PC into geek squad several times, they found nothing wrong with the hardware and ended up reinstalling Windows 10. This seemed to help for several weeks and then the BSOD's started happening again, although not frequently (once every week or two). All my drivers were fully updated, BIOS is updated, I ran Driver Verifier, Memtest, OCCT on all of it's settings and have found no problems with them. I ended up reinstalling Windows 10 myself the other day and now I am experiencing up to 4 BSODs in a single day. I should point out that none of the BSOD's have happened when my PC is doing anything intensive, I've been able to play resource demanding games with no issues. The BSOD's always happen when the PC is left idle or I have just one tab with music playing in my browser. I've decided to just start cycling out my parts and replacing them with new ones to see if it is indeed a Hardware problem, but I'm hoping maybe someone here can find something in the DMP's that may have been missed and help me figure out what is causing this problem. I've uploaded the last few DMP files and Event Log into this zip: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuQfX8syP_a0ghaekfxkWxCsUUac?e=hJI7dY

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That last dump confirmed what I hope is your final BSOD, fingers crossed. Just as well you figured out how to uninstall it.
I prefer to have everything on one drive, no partitions. I have a second drive for backups. Much easier to sort out problems, if they occur.
Use the Wise tools to get rid of all the lurking bits.

Run both of these, in this order.
1: Wise Disk Cleaner ( Run the 1st three tabs, left to right. I use default settings, leave boxes that are unchecked, unchecked )

2: Wise Registry Cleaner ( Only use Registry Cleaner & with default settings. Don't use System Tuneup, that is for Experts, you really have to know what you are doing )

I'll go ahead and try using Wise. It's really unfortunate if this is the cause, I need to use Unreal to perform my job and Unreal requires the Epic Games Launcher to run.

Thanks, I would set Sleep to Never.

Unreal alternatives

Once you have finished running the Wise tools, you can always try your job programs again.

First thing, you do Overclock?, if yes try disable.
Your Windows is installed on HD or SSD?
on RAM Memory you use XMP profile or manual Override?
i have this problem once on my notebook, about 10 minutes of idle and i got BSOD, if is the same problem i can help you.

I got a BSOD today, Epic Games Launcher and Unreal have been uninstalled, I'm guessing neither were the cause. Here's the minidump: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuQfX8syP_a0gh6Y4nZpv4J3LYwY?e=6Us2JX

I guess I'll try out the Linux live CD if there's nothing else in the log?

As far as I know I am not overclocking.
I have windows installed on an SSD.
I am not sure if its set to XMP or manual Overide, is this something I change in the BIOS?

yes, you can select the Ram Speed on the bios, i really recomend you set to XMP profile;
''I have windows installed on an SSD.'', thats what i suspect, so you have an Hard Drive just for storage right?

if you have go to Windows> Energy Plan>Advanced settings: then click on
Hard drive> Shutdown hard driver after: set to 0.
Pci Express
> connection power state management: set to OFF
CPU power management
>minimum performance state: set to 1%
maximun performance state: it should be at 100%;

thats what i do to fix my notebook, i hope it work for you, and remenber the Defalt settings values, case not work just revert the values.
im free translating from my language, maybe some names look a bit diferent on your windows, but i think u will understand,

I just changed all the settings in Energy Plan as you recommended.
I can't seem to find and XMP option in Bios, just "Auto", "Manual", and "D.O.CP."

D.O.C.P is the AMD Version, XMP its from Intel, but its the same thing i strong recommend you use it 😀, open the task manager and look the ram frequency before and after, if u not activate the D.O.C.P your ram will be underperforming, cause your ram was made to work with 3.5v and 3200 Mhz on D.OC.P profile, but if the D.O.C.P is off the motherboard just give 3.0v to ram so the ram cant reach the defalt 3200Mhz

I switched it to DOCP, I did get a warning though, something like: Performance is usually best when memory is 1:1 Synch

Now it's blaming Edge.

How to Reset Microsoft Edge in Windows 10

That is interesting, I'm starting to wonder if the problem is somehow related to programs being connected to the internet in general. Something I noticed but didn't think was a big deal is that every browser I've used (Chrome, Opera, and now Edge) every once in awhile the tabs will crash and reload. I'm not sure if that helps pinpoint what's going on or not.

Getting too complicated, here is how to test with Linux, if needed.

Step 1: Download a 64-bit Linux distro/ISO. Hopefully this one will suit your specs.
https://linux.softpedia.com/get/System/Operating-Systems/Linux-Distributions/Linux-Lite-93641.shtml
Step 2: Insert an RW cd or dvd, right click on the .ISO & hit Burn. You can use a thumb drive if you prefer.
Step 3: If you want to be really safe & avoid making a mistake, uncable your drives.
Step 4: Reboot, Press Delete or F2 to select the appropriate media to boot from.
Step 5: Linux will now load & run from that media. Play around with Linux for as long as you like, to test for BSOD.

i have asked a friend to convert the dump files, The process it names is the victim, not the cause. BSOD almost never caused by exe programs, all you doing is removing the programs you want to use... if you delete windows, you won't get any BSOD... not ideal solution, is it :)

I would be more inclined to update your LAN drivers since Epic Launcher & Edge both use internet, so it could be an old LAN/WIFI driver.

My Wi-Fi adaptor is an Intel Wireless-AC 9260 160Hz, from what I can tell in Device Manager and Driver Booster its drivers are up to date. Maybe there is some incompatibility issue? I'm not sure why that would be the case though since it came with and is literally built into my motherboard.

I don't have any LAN drivers as far as I can tell, other than Hamachi which I removed.

3rd party driver updaters like Driver Booster can get drivers wrong. I used it myself and it broke sound once, its only good point is it creates a restore point before installing anything so you can roll back if need be.

I guess dumps will show what is on there. I was just going from what I saw. Guy I asked to check them is asleep right now.

I did just find what I think is a much more recent version of my adaptor's driver on Intel's website. I went ahead and installed it. I'll see if that solves the problem, if not I guess I can try booting from Linux.

You are using BIOS version 2203. The latest STABLE version is 3001. We recommend avoiding Beta versions unless you have a specific need for one. Wait for additional information before deciding to update or not. Important: Verify that I have linked to the correct motherboard. Updating your BIOS can be risky. Never try it when you might lose power (lightning storms, recent power outages, etc).

This information can be used by others to help you. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.
