Hello guys and sorry for any mistakes but my English isn't perfect, I hope u understand.
I'm having a problem with my PC for few months already and I have no clue how to fix it. I just tried to make system maintenance and i got bsod with info that thread exception was not handled.

I'm using windows 10 64bit, intel i-7 4790 3.6ghz, motherboard ASRocK Z97 anniversary and 32GB of some cheap ram.

I would like to add that before i reinstalled windows 10 I had BSOD when I left my PC idle for some time and that wasn't like that at the beginning after format always after some time like 2-4 weeks and then all of the sudden i was getting bsod again. I hope someone can help me to fix it because I'm tired of constantly formatting my PC because of that.

edit:
i tried again to start maintenance and i got KMOD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED this time ;/

Solution
The optimized defaults & reset CMOS battery serve the same function (the battery is there incase you're not stable enough to access the BIOS).
Generally that ("thread exception was not handled") BSOD is caused by drivers - specifically your display drivers.

I'd start by booting in safe mode & uninstalling your display drivers (nVidia or AMD). Then, boot normally & see how it responds. If all looks good, head on over the (nVidia or AMD)'s site & download the latest (non-BETA) driver.

The KMODE EXCEPTION BSOD can be either hardware or driver related as Mr Kagouris mentioned already. If driver removal/reinstall doesn't fix the problem, you may have a hardware issue.

Thanks for quick response guys. I did everything u said and then I tried to start maintenance bsod again but now it was Memory Management. does it mean it's RAM that is probably faulty ?

Quite possibly, yes.

I'd suggest you "load optimized defaults" in your BIOS initially - that might solve the problem.

You should run MemTest (http://www.memtest86.com/) and see if any errors are caught.

Luckily, RAM is one of the cheaper hardware 'replacements'.....although, the majority of RAM manufacturer's provide a long warranty, some are even 'lifetime' (generally for the initial purchaser only though)

memtest;/ ok i will do it and see if there is any errors:) is there any certain numbers off scans or passes i need to reach to be sure that ram is fine? last time i tried it I gave up after about +24h and 2passes.

Generally, the more 'broken' the RAM is, the quicker MemTest will find it (1 pass, more often than not).

Run a couple of passes, if it's not finding any errors at that stage, there's likely only minor (if any) issues with your RAM, and something that subtle is highly unlikely to b causing the BSOD's.

Have you loaded "optimized defaults" / reset your CMOS? I'd definitely start there.

I jsut did set optimized defaults in bios but no changes, I didn't reset CMOS battery at the moment because its hidden behind my graphics card but i will do it later. still getting bsod whil maintenance. I think i will run that memtest tonight or tommorow and that will take some time ;/ thank u guys for helping me but when I start memtest i won't be here for probably 2 days 😛 I will come back with results as soon as i finish it :)
