Hi guys I'm at my wits end here. This BSOD first happened after I 'choked' the power supply during a freeze or hang. Now everytime i turn on the laptop it takes around 10mins. It boots then BSOD, then automatic restart before working fine again.
I've tried device verifier, diagnostics for the hdd and have updated Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver. Apparently ntoskrnl is something to do with memory but don't quote me on that. I don't know very much.
asus k56ca BIOS version 208 11/13/2012
-I would check for file corruption in one of your OS files
sfc.exe /scannow <- run this to check for corruption
- looks like the intel rapid storage driver causes the issue
(remove it if you are not using it, driver dated 6/13/2012 or update it directly from intel site https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx )
- you could try a different cable or port to your drive.
I had this same problem with my Asus Zenbook. As it turns out, either the Rapid Storage driver didn't recognize the additional SSD that came with my computer, or somehow in transit the SSD was physically disconnected. I figure I won't mess with the drive itself as the SSD is connected directly to the HDD, and I am just too clumsy to mess with it.
In the meantime, if you just uninstall the Rapid Storage driver, this particular problem goes away. You won't have access to that drive, but at least your computer doesn't go through a 20 minute startup process.
