you would think they would work with a 2080.

Try running DDU and try older Nvidia drivers - https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq...n-install-of-your-video-card-drivers.2402269/
That error code happens a lot from bad driver installs or broken registry files. I have also seen that error caused by a bad drive all together. Have you recently updated anything that may have corrupted during install?

Unfortunately I have not updated any of my component for over a year.
I did however use the "Reset this PC" feature a few weeks back and made sure it cleaned up everything on the OS drive. The reasoning was that I had some other issues, causing my PC to just freeze up, not even getting to the BSOD so I was unable to check the dump file for any errors. This happened very frequent as well, as much as twice or thrice pr week.

So after the reset I was basically sitting with an completely "fresh" PC and haven't had any issues with it before now.
I have installed all drivers to my motherboard, CPU, GPU and flashed BIOS to the newest stable release.

Here is my computer specifications as well:
Mobo: Asus ROG Strix Z390-F Gaming
CPU: i7-9700k
GPU: RTX 2080

The reset my pc windows feature is pretty bad at what it’s supposed to do and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it ended up creating registry errors from the windows “cleaning” not to mention reinstalling the drivers. As much of a pain as it can be I would suggest backing up anything important and doing an actual reformat and fully wipe the drive with a windows thumb drive, which you can create using a tool you download from the windows website. The reset this pc feature is more of a gentle approach to resetting the pc and doesn’t do a great job of cleaning it comepletely and if it misses something it will result in a problem like what you are describing when it tries to access that info.

Hi, I think you meant "dwm.exe"? That is sometimes associated with a GPU driver crash.

I ran the dump file through the debugger and got the following information: https://unfocusedpizza.htmlpasta.com/

File information:061020-8734-01.dmp (Jun 10 2020 - 17:57:10)
Bugcheck:IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (A)
Probably caused by:memory_corruption (Process: dwm.exe)
Uptime:3 Day(s), 11 Hour(s), 58 Min(s), and 34 Sec(s)

Possible Motherboard page: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z390-F-GAMING/
There is a BIOS update available for your system. You are using version 1401 and the latest is version 1502. Wait for additional information before deciding to update or not. Important: Verify that I have linked to the correct motherboard. Updating your BIOS can be risky. Never try it when you might lose power (lightning storms, recent power outages, etc).

This information can be used by others to help you. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.

Solution
Thanks for all the replies.

I have now done the following:
  • Formated the disk the OS was located on, wiping basically everything on the drive.
  • Reinstalled windows through an USB stick
  • flashed BIOS to version 1502 through Ez flash 3 (component available in BIOS)
  • Installed all drivers etc. on the newly installed OS, and it seems to run fine now, but i'll update this thread if any further issues shows up. If the PC crashes again and the dumpfile shows a similar output, then I'll DDU the current GPU driver and install an older version.
