This is my first build, so any help would he appreciated.

Approximate Purchase Date: Within a month

Budget Range: $600

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, surfing the internet, watching movies

Are you buying a monitor: No

Do you need to buy OS: No

Location: USA

Parts Preferences: I don't care

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

This is what I have so far:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GYzr

I am not sure if my power supply is the right size. I think it is, but I'm not sure.

I would really like to have a the price be around $600, I might be able to spend $50 more in a month or so.

Any ideas?

Oh, and I want to play games like Far Cry 3, Borderlands 2, assassin's creed 3, and crisis 3.

Thanks

Bonestoo

For that price it doesn't really get any better.
And yes the CPU IS in fact a lot faster than the FX 6100.

This does look like a better build than the one I gave. I saw that the Sapphire video card is out of stock. Is there something that is the same, but in stock?

There are only 2 cards for the 7870 LE, PowerColor and Sapphier, and both are out of stock everywhere online.
You could opt for a regular 7870 like: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150605

If you want to save more, you could go for the 7850. It depends on what is your fps and graphics quality target. A 7850 with 1GB VRAM could be sufficient as well. I got a XFX 7850 1GB for $149 after MIR with Fary Cry 3, Tomb Raider, and Bishock.. Practically, it's like as if I got the video card for free since I will play all of those games xD

I am still not sure if I should go for the Radeon HD 7870 2GB or the Galaxy GeForce GTX 660 2GB. They both cost the same on Newegg.

The 7870 comes with BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider.

The 660 comes with $50 for each game: Hawken, World of Tanks, and PlanetSide 2.

If you can spare the extra money, then you should get the fx 6300.
