Hi all, just wondering if I could get some advice on a build I am considering putting together? The rig will be mostly used for gaming, and I'm not looking for outstanding performance on Ultra settings. Just enough to play recent AAA titles without hassle.

Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600(3.6 Ghz-4.2GHz/36MB Cache)

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200MHZ (2X 8GB)

GPU: 4GB Geforce GTx 1650 Super

Storage: 2TB Seagate Baracuda SATA-III 3.5" HDD (6GB/S, 7200RPM, 256MB Cache)
512GB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (2000 MB/R, 1100MB/W)

PSU: Corsair 450W CV-450

Cooler: Torn between the stock AMD cooler as I've heard good things and a PCS Frostflow 80

Case: Fractal Focus G Black Gaming Case

This is the first time I've considered putting an AMD build together so I'm all ears for advice.

  • You're spending too much for the motherboard/CPU.
  • Forget the Seagate drive and get a 1TB m.2 NVME.
  • The power supply is not made for a gaming system.
  • Upgrade to GTX 1660 Super.
At the budget you are using, about $800 USD for the parts you listed, you can get a better gaming experience by changing some things for a more balanced system at 1080p.
