Hi there, I am trying to build a new PC with a budget around 2,000 - 2,500. My son wants it to play at a high end for Call of Duty. I would really like to be built on a Intel Chip, that is possible. I will need everything from Tower, Guts, and Monitors. Keyboard/Mouse/OS I don't need though.

For COD you dont need a 2500$ build.
Build something like this for 2000$ and get a gaming monitor for the 500$

Ouch on picking that build as the best answer. You can get a 10700K for 200 bucks less and right at the same performance.
Or save even more money and pair up a Z490 board + 10040F with some 3200MHz RAM and still kill it with FPS in CoD.

If this is what that cpu does in BF5 + RTX 2080 Ti, i can only imagine what it will do in CoD seeing how FPS in CoD Warzone are higher by a significant amount vs BF5.

First this is a bad time to build a PC because of the video card shortage you would like to buy a RTX 3060ti but their none.
You can go to EVGA and activate a account and get in line for one.

Get in line for both of the first 2 cards listed.
https://www.evga.com/products/Produ...=GeForce+30+Series+Family&chipset=RTX+3060+Ti

Now for a video card so he can start gaming now this is the best current buy, sell it when you get the new card. It's not going to max the game out but with a mix of low and mid settings it will have fairly high FPS.

You will need to buy a display port cable for the monitor soon to be listed to get the higher refresh rate it's not included with the monitor.

For the PC build a bit of overkill on the memory but he will never need to add more.

When loading the OS and programs just use the M.2 drive don't hook up the extra drive.
Then hook up the extra drive, format it and assign it a drive letter.

Make a folder on the extra drive name it games or something and redirect all games and steam to download to that folder.

don't see if that is just running the game ( missions) or the actual PVP.
EDIT and again a video card that's sold out. I also try to look at the PC lasting 5/6 years on the processor and no telling what games he will be into by then.

He probably has the wrong game listed fairly sure it's for BF5

Not a bad build .. with that said for $42 more you can size up to that 2TB Mushkin NVME SSD that runs circles around that WD. You get a bigger, faster drive and everything is on one single SSD. Also does the OP plan on O/C because if not that $140 cpu cooler is spendy. Not so sure about the 32GB's of RAM either. Usually by year 5 its time to do a complete rebuild in regards to a gaming PC. Pretty much every time someone post a thread on 'what should I upgrade' and they have a five year old PC .. first thing I'm thinking is 'maybe save the HD's if they're SSD's, the case and psu .. everything else ... buy new'.

On paper yes but not in the real world use for your average user and I had much rather have 2 separate drives.
EDIT for the cooler it's about what's needed for the processor.

For 32GB of memory it's just like 50bucks more and if in a couple years he gets into work programs/editing, game demands changes a bit not a bad investment. To much memory = wasted money not enough memory sux a lot worse and can't see a couple years down the road.

Most of the time on what to upgrade I tell them to sell and build new but with the crap on video cards sometimes it can be better to keep your card.

EDIT again I'm in line for the EVGA 3060 ti cards and the 3070 FTW cards, as of now my 1070 is still OK and have 980 for backup. I would really like to get the new card then I can sell my 4790K/GTX980PC

I know their no such thing as futureproofing but you can buy a bit of overkill to a point and make it last a bit longer without spending a bunch more money.

It's a kid wanting to play CoD / BF on the highest settings. By the time someone feels the need to O/C because they need those 6 extra FPS in order to play the newer games means its usually time for a rebuild. O/C anymore is a hobbyist thing and its usually the newer ones that screw around with O/C that are posting threads in here such as 'my <Mod Edit> won't work anymore after I went into the bios and tried doing this ** .. '.

I can agree with most of that but a kid today and a few years later wont's or needs more of a PC because his interest has changed or not who knows. I would still recommend buying about the best within budget.

I think I'm at like 1700 right now with the monitor. Still well below budget and then add the 3060ti and sell the 1660 still under budget and a very nice PC.

EDIT their no 100% right or wrong answers just opinions.

I never even said a word about OC.

No need for that cpu and cpu water cooler if you don't plan on overclocking.
