[SOLVED] Budget build: b450 or b550?

Hello, my last pc exploded recently, psu and it seems mobo aswell, since it was nearly 6 years old I decided to buy a new one, using whatever I still can that might still be working from the old pc (860 Evo 500gb ssd, 970gtx).

So basically I'm looking for a budget build that is decent value, I'm very interested in the 3300x, but my main question is if I should get a b450, or if it's worth waiting for the b550 considering stock problems and price inflation in hardware recently (I'm in EU), and if it would actually be somewhat more future proof.

Solution
so waiting for a feature you're not going to use seems like a waste of time to me. especially when looking at "budget" builds. a pcie 4 ssd is very expensive and wil be for a long time. outside of what you are looking to spend.

i don't see anything new coming with b550 worth waiting for if you can find something today that works for you at the right price. but of course if you have to wait for b450 to restock then of course see what b550 offers if they actually come out when they are supposed to at decent prices.

i just built a new b450 system a couple weeks ago. was not worth waiting since i knew i was not going to spend the money for pcie 4 ssd's anytime soon. found what i wanted in stock and put the order in :)
If your current PC is toast then waiting for new tech/lower prices seems secondary to getting a working system.
Yep... But I'm thinking, 4 days till launch of b550 right? And dunno how long till they hit the stores, 2-3 weeks? That would still be acceptable to wait

Thanks for your opinions! I probably won't buy an SSD so soon, and from what I understood even PCI 3 is more than enough for graphic cards in the future (specially since I don't buy anything over mid ranges), guess I'll start searching for good enough b450's that have support for 3300x out of the box.

i ended up with a gigabyte aorus pro wifi b450 myself.

ran the 3700x i dropped into it out of the box no problem. no idea what it costs for you or if its in stock but i paid $119 for mine which wasn't too bad considering how nice it is.

good luck in the search. i know how much fun it was for me when looking a couple weeks ago. out of stock or way overpriced pretty much everywhere.
