Budget build best lga 1155

I am planning to buy a budget build for my office it is mostly used for office apps and net browsing,watching dvd movies, and there is no question of overclocking, and absolutelyno gaming. Processor is probably i3-2130 or i5-2500k, ddr3 ram 4gb, and the question is i am lot of confused in choosing a board,

please suggest a best mid range board from asus,gigabyte and biostar.

my preferences are

1) h61,h67,b65,p67 and if there is a chance z68.
2)Ram limit at least 16gb
3)Price between $70 to 120$
4)on board graphics must
5)an LPT printer port also.

don't suggest a board without on board graphics. thanks.

For your needs, you will not need a 2500k. If you don't plan on overclocking, there is no reason to spend the extra money on an unlocked processor. Your cheapest option would be a mATX H61 board, I can recommend some in my next post, but I have a question first.

Do you need a LPT port on the motherboard, or could you simply use one of these?:

P67 doesn't have on board graphics, so you can rule that out.

Also, office apps and web browsing would have a hard time maxing out 4GB of RAM, why do you need at least 16GB?

Well, for starters almost no LGA1155 boards have onboard graphics (newegg carries 1). Instead the CPUs have integrated graphics and the H and Z chipsets can use them. The p67 is out because it can't use the integrated graphics.

Also, as noted earlier, a 2500k is not needed. In fact, even an i3 is more than you need. I highly suggest a Intel Pentium G620, or possibly a Intel Celeron G530. Both of them are dual core Sandy Bridge based processors and should be more than sufficient. Having recently built an Athlon X2 3GHz desktop that does what you want, the G-series chips should easily outperform the one I recently built. Also the G series comes with the HD2000 graphics chip which should be sufficient for DVD watching.

For a motherboard, unless you don't care about brand, you'll probably have to settle for buying a lpt header cable since most don't have them on the back panel any more, but they do have the pins on the motherboard. If you want HDMI on the motherboard you'll probably have to spend more

Thanks for reply, but this rig is not for my own use, this rig for my office's godown(ware house) there is continuously printing work runs 24x7. And i don't use that rig cause My work in admin section. those add on lpt looking very good but in my godown the people who are using this rig aren't good with add on cards so that port must be built in. thanks.

PS. in my home my personnel rig i7-2600k at 4.6ghz.

cause our godown app is ram eater.


it can slowdown any pc within 1 year.

The links I sent aren't add in cards, they are just cables. There is no installation required. Just plug the parallel connector to the printer, and the usb to the PC. We use them where I work for an older printer and it works like a charm.

I know brother, but these people who are to be use this rig are complete idiots, so they cant agree to buy a pc without built in lpt port. In my cabin i am using three rigs with sabertooth board you suggested cables for 6 months.

That board says it requires a discrete vga card and the pictures don't show any video connections.

I just noticed the model number on that Gigabyte board says it's a "P61". I guess that means it's a board designed for P67 but it's using the H61 chipset?

Yea, I see that too. Interesting. I wonder why that is. Seems strange to label it an H61 board but not to put any video outputs on it.

my dear friend never buy an Intel board, it is a very huge mistake if you buy an Intel board for any purpose. These boards comes with locks for every thing.
