basically i got a pre build gaming pc and its trash so i want to upgrade it
in the pc already i have 1x8gb ddr3 ram 1TB hdd 500 watt psu this really old amd chip with one core at 3.5gz clock speed and no graphics card (the amd chip is an apu)
and im unable to expand my budget and im quite happy with what i choose there

it may not seem that good because they look bad or are cheap but at least ill be able to play games at 60 fps

What APU is in there right now? Your prebuilt system may not even support what you want to buy. What is it? What board does it have? I think 60fps is a stretch even with what you want to get. Old games sure, but anything current, no.

Ok so the good news is the CPU you want would work with it.

If I were you I'd save up a little more and buy this combo:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Components4All-3-5Ghz-A320M-K-Motherboard-Pre-Built/dp/B079Y4VT4B/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1546322863&sr=1-2&keywords=ryzen%2B3%2B2200g&th=1

This way you have a platform for future upgrades. AND the built in GPU is as good as a GT 1030 you want to buy for most games.

Then sell your old components (motherboard, ram, and APU) on ebay to recoup the difference. this is a FAR FAR better use of your money.

damn ryzen is that good huh you know i was originally thinking of getting ryzen because i had like £200 but i dont know hwere £20 went and my mum took £40 so yeah this is what i was left with

i could sell my ram, mobo and cpu but i dont have their boxes so i dont know how im going to do that

looks like ill have to use vga instead of dvi because my monitor dosnt have hdmi for some reason and the mobo dosnt have dvi

if i get the one with no ram i could probably get this build right now and reuse my 1x8gb ddr3 ram

Nope, it takes DDR4 Memory.

Find some boxes, its worth it. Or buy the new stuff and use those boxes. Or sell it all together as 1 then you just need 1 box. Or got to a local computer store see if they have boxes they are tossing.

No you can't, you need DDR4 ram for this build.

And yes Ryzen is that good, the onboard GPU is as good as the 1030, and the CPU part is MILES ahead of that old Athlon.

ok so i sell my old parts together and get around about £50-£60
then i could get the one with 4gb 2400mhz and then i can game at at least 720p 60fps?

4gb is too little for gaming, you need 8gb, especially with this CPU. and yes the Ryzen 3 2200G can run most games at 60+fps at 720p.
