Hi, I'm looking to build another computer with the upcoming black friday sells coming up (I live in Canada). I'm looking for a cheap build using maybe one of those new Ryzens and I'm hoping for at least 8gb of ram. I don't need monitor, keyboard or anything, just the tower and components inside itself.

I'm looking at the Ryzen 3 1200. If anybody can recommend other parts for it like motherboard, ram, tower, and whatever else I might need that would be really helpful. (I also need the motherboard to have wireless networking). It's mainly for running youtube smoothly and having a bunch of browsers opened without lag. No gaming is involved.

Thank you.

$500 US or Canadian?

CAD. I'm hoping to build a budget computer that would last be 5-10 years without much lag in the future.

I don't mind switching out the cpu as well if you think there's a better one out there.

I think the Ryzen 3 2200G is a better fit since you dont have to worry about getting a graphics card. I've included a link to pcpartspicker that has all of the parts except for a case, because that's more of a personal choice than anything else, but it comes out to $512 for a Ryzen 3 2200g, b450 motherboard, 8gb ram, 240gb ssd, 1tb hard drive, a wireless card (its cheaper than getting a board with built in wifi), and a 600w seasonic psu (overkill, but it gives you room to add decent graphics and grow in the future).

This build is a bit more modern, and has a case. PSU is average, and has squeeze in room for a 580 in the future. Also cheap.

Thats a pretty solid build that would hold you over for quite a while. If you're not opposed to used parts you could pick up a 1080 ti for $500 - $550 on ebay, saving you a nice chunk of change. You could also look for open box deals if you live next to a frys or microcenter. Our colleague does have a point in keeping it relevant to the $500 build (still a nice spec list though).

Not everything has to be so serious, I also told him that there was no need to get off topic, but sometimes these random comments can even help, maybe there is a part in the spec list that the OP decided they want to use instead, or maybe they decide they want a more high end build. There is no need to sweat the small stuff and stress over 2 or 3 random comments my friend, we're all just here to help out no?

Thanks everybody for the suggestions! I'm trying to go through them one by one. I really appreciate the work and help everybody put into this for me and possibly anybody else looking for a budget build. Hoping I'll get through it all by this weekend.

If anybody is interested, these are the final parts I got. I opted out of the hard drive cause I'm just going to reuse an old one.

Some parts have come in but have yet to build it. I'll update after I finish building and let you know how it is so if anybody else ever stumbles on this thread some day, they'll have a general idea at least (I hope).

Awesome, I hope you enjoy your new build!
