Question Budget Engineering Desktop

Hello,
I am engineer student and I have several years the Dell Inspiron 15 7559 gaming laptop. I am really happy with this laptop (i7-6700hq, nvidia gtx 960m 4gb, 16gb ram).
All the tasks and the engineering programs that I use run smoothly, without pushing it at all (AutoCAD, Excel, Coding, Revit, Sketchup, Phottoshop, Illustrator, etc., and of course multitasking).
I need now to build a desktop pc for my office, so beacause my budget is limited, I want a cheap solution with hardware equivalent to my dell laptop, or a little bit stronger.
I want you opinion about intel or amd, which gpu or cpu should I use in my new build, etc.
Recommended Pc builds??
