I'm building my first pc within the next couple of weeks. I have been using a family pc which i installed a video card in (gtx 750ti) but want my own system so i don't have to game in my kitchen. I plan to use the existing 750ti i already own.

Heres the planned build https://pcpartpicker.com/user/jbrown5056/saved/

Im planning to overclock the cpu to around 4.2

Any thoughts/advice would be awesome

You really really want the OS on an SSD, or at least have a cheap 32-64 GB SSD as a cache drive (using Intel RST, builtin to your motherboard) to make it a hybrid. Also, skip Windows 7 and install Windows 10. It's free and actually pretty good already.

An SSD is a luxury not a necessity, if you have budget left over it's a great way to spend it and the gains are really really good but if you just dont have the money you dont need it. I would get a 120gb min preferably a 240gb+ when you do get one.

But won't i need os when windows 10 is released in a couple months. I assume it won't be free forever.
