MY FIRST BUILD EVER!! I have absolutely no pc hardware or software minus the monitor.

I can use any and all advice from parts, compatability, missing pieces( cables cords etc), bottlenecking, underusage, or anything else.

GAMING ONLY ( wanna play GW2 on high setting 1920 x 1080 ). Some Music..

Parts Required. EVERYTHING including tools, keyboard mouse, OS, any building software I may need. I only have a 1080p 23.6 monitor.

USA from Newegg.

No Crossife or SLI or OC.

$$$$. 730.61 $$$ after codes and before 20 MIR. Would like to avoid MIR if you suggest a good deal... :).

Having mobile issues scrolling and pasting on here. So I'm gonna do a complete link from Newegg checkout. Sorry if it's a massive wall...

there only two parts of the build that are weak. the first one is the power supply..it not a bad one it just that with any good ps you dont want to load it more then 80 percent of it rated value. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/10/22/ati-radeon-hd-6870-review/9
show at idle your card draws 127w and 250w when running games. so your using 1/2 the rated vaule already on that ps with just the video card..no hard drives not led case fans..or fans..I would bump the ps to a 600w to be safe.
also for the same money as new egg micro center has better prices on cpu.

Pretty decent budget build. You wont need to buy a whole toolkit, all you really need is a phillips head screwdriver. The challenger is a decent case (used to have it) but at that price range I would look at the haf 912.

For $800 you can do way better - the tool kit and the headset are wastes of money - you don't need them. All you need to build a build is a good philips head screwdriver and a clean surface. The Pentium G680 should not be used on a gaming PC (if that's the primary usage) - HTPCs and ultra low budget builds only. Do not go with H61 as it will severly limit your expansion options.

Try this:

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 - $59.99 ($10.00 MIR)
PSU: Corsair CX600 V2 - $69.99 ($20.00 MIR)
Motherboard: Asrock Z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3 - $121.99
CPU: 3.1GHz Intel Core i5-2400 - $189.99
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw X 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600Mhz 1.5V - $46.99
HD: 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue - $84.99
Optical: Lite On DVD Burner - $17.99
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 - $169.99 ($10.00 MIR)

Total: $771.92 - $40.00 MIR = $731.92

If you need OS and monitor try this then:

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 - $59.99 ($10.00 MIR)
PSU: Corsair CX600 V2 - $69.99 ($20.00 MIR)
Motherboard: INTEL BOXDH67DLCB3 - $89.99
CPU: 3.3GHz Intel Core i3-2120 - $127.99
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw X 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600Mhz 1.5V - $46.99
HD: 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue - $84.99
Optical: Lite On DVD Burner - $17.99
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 - $149.99 ($15.00 MIR)
Monitor: Acer 21.5" HD monitor - $119.99
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium - $99.99
Keyboard / Mouse: Logitech MK320 - $24.99

Total: $892.89 - $45.00 MIR = $847.89

A little bit over budget but you don't sacrifice anything and you don't spend your money needlessly.

see if new egg will price match.
why i posted the better cpu is you dont want to bottle neck the gpu. the i5-2400 with 4 cores is going to last you a long time and wont bottle neck unless your uses untral high settings and ultra high res.
