Budget gaming CPU that tops Phenom 965?

I'm on a tight budget, looking to squeeze out what I can on it. I can pickup the Phenom X4 965 for about $80 from Newegg, and comparing benchmarks I really can't find anything that's better.

Is there an obvious choice that I'm missing? I understand the I3-3220 is an upgrade, but for my needs I'm definitely leaning towards the cheap $80 tag.

Mainly using it for WoW, Minecraft, and general university work.

Still undecided, actually. Was going to be basing that around which processor I get.

I've heard good things about the ASrock 970, but if there is something cheaper that delivers the same performance (I plan to overclock if possible) I'm all for it.
