Hi All,

It's been about five (5) years since I've played WoW (World of Warcraft) and I have recently started up again. However, I've noticed that the specifications to run the latest version have increased dramatically. I would like to ask the tom's community for some advice regarding a pc build. I'm looking for a build that would be able to run WoW effortlessly, but without breaking the bank. I live in Canada, so assuming everything purchased would be in US dollars, I'm looking to spend no more than $1200.00 CAD. Is it possible and would it be able to ensure "futureproofing?" Thank you in advance for your help!

-Pat

Imo even this PC is an overkill for WoW. But it's good futureproof PC and a good workstation!

It is not overkill for WoW, at all. You start dialing up the view distance, and shadows cranked up, it can get demanding fast. That's why I keep my view distance to 7 and shadows on low. Even @1080, it was a major hit to FPS. I am now @1440p, so not even bothering to try to up that now. A GTX 1060 6gb is a good choice for 1080p/1440p WoW, as it is about equal to my GTX 980, in performance.

I am also building a pc with somewhat same pricing but here in India My Configuration as below

AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Processon
AMD LED Stock Cooler
ADATA D40 LED 2 x 8GB 2666MHz Ram
Asus Strix B350-F Gaming Motherboard
Asus Strix 1060 6Gb OC Tripe Fan Graphics Card
Corsair RM650 650W +Gold Rated Power Supply Unit
NZXT S340 Elite Mid ATX Case
Western Digital 1TB / 2TB Hard Disk Drive
SanDisk Ultra II 250GB Solid State Drive
Acer R240HY 24'' IPS Panel
Logitech G102 Mouse
Logitech G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard

I think I haven't missed anything here. This is my personal rig which I am building as I get my hands on some parts as they are not available here in India right now.

Basically this is generally for editing cum gaming cum streaming PC. It does have a RGB Factor with some components like Stock Cooler, Motherboard, Graphics Card, Mouse, Keyboard and Ram. This build is also future upgradable like an AIO Cooler or 1070/1080Ti GPU's. The case has plenty of room and a nice window to show off your RGB Factor with ur SSD.

Let me know what you all think about the above mentioned build according to the $1200-$1300 .
