The cx550m is $15 more than that thermaltake & twice the quality

https://www.mwave.com.au/product/corsair-cx550m-550w-80-plus-bronze-semimodular-power-supply-ac06921

If budget is an issue the cx450's are cheaper , still more than enough & still very good quality.

The firecuda is $150 ??

Take the adata su800 at $117

https://www.mwave.com.au/product/adata-256gb-su800-ultimate-25-sata-iii-ssd-asu800ss256gtc-ac02364

& the tosh dt01 at $65
https://www.mwave.com.au/product/toshiba-dt01aca100-1tb-35-7200rpm-sata3-desktop-hard-drive-ab68280

The cx 450 & those 2 drives is $21 more than your initial list & youll be far happier

Yeah, just playing 1080p games, but also wanting to be able to run pubg, would a 1050ti be better or nah?

no, you can drop to 1050ti and still run the game happily/ just do the proper updates and no viruses...you should be good.

edit: dont expect a miracle for ultra. we get alot of whiners saying "i have a good pc and why dont i have ultra 1080p 60fps"..

sure...your config will be a solid medium gamer:)

I have nbn, which is fine 99% of the time

You want a better psu than the one listed mate honestly.Thats a poor poor quality unit.

Also not sure id pay the extreme overhead for a 2tb firecuda.

Ypu can just about do a proper 240gb ssd + a1 tb secondary for about the same money & its far preferable.

Apart from that ,yeah nice system.

ok but fella....your psu is poor. pick a better one. thermaltake is shit. i apogize for my language, pick a evga one.

Oh my God, guys.

I am running i5-2400 with GTX 970 and I'm able to run new games at 1080p@40FPS at Ultra.
Now tell me, why wouldn't he run all games with this build at 1080p@60FPS also at Ultra?
That doesn't make any sense.
Of course he would.

And you @ARICH5, please don't answer anymore. Your answers don't make any sense.

Peace.

Playing in ultra is useless in some games like pubg, as it is better to play in medium settings as its give you an advantage like removing the grass quality, which makes spotting enemies easier

I wasn't specifically talking about PUBG, I was talking about new games in general.

Is this build upgradable? as I will get a 3k budget for a pc in 2 years time due to finishing school. If so, what can i change

As of now at this point in time am4 is hands down the most future proof/upgradeable socket on the market.
There is no argument there at all , kaby/skylake is already pretty much a dead socket , coffee lake looks to be a single use (maybe some refresh chips in the next 12 month at best) socket.

Am4 is penned compatibility wise till 2020 (asrock have already released bios updates for the k4 for upcoming apu & ryzen refresh chips)

I would say though in all honesty that in 2 years with a $2k budget you could likely build completely new & sell your old system on.

An Update for my Build:

Case: Corsair Carbide SPEC-04

Cpu: AMD Ryzen 5 1600

Gpu: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC GAMING 6GB

Ram: Team T-Force Vulcan 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR4 2400MHz

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5":: I have found out that I currently have a 1tb seagate barracuda, I checked the speeds and the reads and writes were all good.

Mobo: ASUS PRIME B350-PLUS changed mobo as I read this one was easier to overclock with

Psu: Corsair CX550M 550W 80 Plus Bronze Semi-Modular
