Hello all,
I am building my first PC here, and am on a budget. This PC will be used for gaming, video editing, and also possibly some CAD. I have a quasi-build completed, but want to see what you guys would do. I have a budget of about $1400, and here are my requirements:
-- Decent sized SSD
-- Minimum of 4 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 3.0 ports
-- 16GB RAM
-- 1TB HDD (preferably 2TB)
-- NVidia Graphics Card able to run games at 1080p at high FPS (StarCraft 2, Far Cry 3, etc.)
-- Good Cooling System
-- Basic Parts (Optical Drive w/ writer, wireless card, thermal paste, etc.)
-- Power Supply which can support upgrades to the PC
Some less important requirements:
-- Tower needs to look cool. I'll also probably get some glowing fans.
-- It should last me a few years (at least 3 I hope, with GPU upgrades and other upgrades as necessary)
-- After its life cycle is over, I should be able to hit it with a hammer and watch it break. I've hit desktops with hammers before, and it is fun.
Before you guys post, I do already have access to some basic parts. I have a keyboard (requires 2 USB 2.0), mouse (1 USB 2.0), and another peripheral (1 USB 2.0). I have headphones as well. I also can purchase a copy of Windows 7 for USD $20, which should detract from the price of the system.
Thank you all for your feedback.
