Hello,

I m going to upgrade my cpu from core2quad q6600 to q9650 and overlock it to @3.6Ghz on my gigabyte g41m combo motherboard (rev 1.3) with cooler master hyper 212 evo air cooler.

I m confused between Gtx 1050ti and Gtx 1060. Whats graphics card do i choose so that it will not bootleneck my cpu.

And what amount of power do i need for both the GPU.

Other details-
Ram 8 gb zion 1600 Mhz
HDD- 1Tb
SMPS 350 watt old one, planned upgrade to 550 watt.

Monitor- LG 1366*768. VGA input (no HDMI) . No going to upgrade this one.

Thanks.

Also with a low res monitor of 768 you should be able to max everything out with a 1050ti.
Your PSU is too low for anything else and it may even struggle with a 1050ti

Your computer is sadly on the death bed for anything if you want to game and changing that CPU won't change a lot.
Personally, better off buying a secondhand computer which is at least i5-2xxx

The bottleneck will definitely happen the other way: Your CPU will bottleneck the new GPU. Go for the 1050Ti as it will be probably bottlenecked anyway and the 1060 won't be able to deliver better in most of the games. And you can keep the 350W PSU.
