Hello,

I am looking for a budget graphics card for photo and video editing. I am not going to be gaming on this system as I already am happy with my PS. This is the PC I have put together so far, as its going slightly out of budget I want to go for a budget Graphics card.
CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core
Motherboard: Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+

Views, tips and any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Dilip

Solution
For video and photo editing you probably want an NVidia card that supports Cuda. The faster the card the more cores and you will get to use and your effects will be faster. So basically check out this and last generation consumer grade graphics cards and then pick one at your price point.

GTX750 or GTX750Ti might be a good budget solution for you starting at about $99. ( $79 after rebates )
Naturally you can go higher, but the bang for buck should be quite good at that level.

have you already bought all these parts? If not drop the corsair ram and pick up some mushkin or g.skill ram, also for editing and rendering I would go with 16gb.

For gaming I would look at the 970, depending on the software you are using the 8350 is a good choice for your photo and video editing.

GTX 750 ti is good budget card.

GTX 760 is about the most a program like photoshop will take adavantage.

If doing large images then you want a card with at least 1000 cuda cores, otherwise photoshop gpu intensive features will only use a max of 500 cuda cores.
