Hello, anyone interested!

I am looking in to building my first pc. It will be mostly everyday browsing and gaming, along with some more cpu intensive programs like autocad civil 3d and sap 2000. I was given a gigabyte ga z87x ud5h motherboard by my uncle, so I know it will be an intel build. I am looking to spend about $600 total, with $50 over budget not a big deal. I also have a 600w power source, and a couple of fans. Other than that, i still need everything else.

Also, although not included in the $600 budget, i am looking for a decent quality monitor at a good price.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jay

The SSD gives you fast boots and response times , but if you can live without that then an nVidia graphics card may be a better option for your CAD work . It will depend on the program modules you use

Thanks again, mate. That looks like a great build!

Sorry, i should have said this in the beginning, but I'll need to buy an OS as well. What do you think about this card . I can live with the longer boot times if need be. Or maybe this card, if nVidia is more integrated with cad. Windows 8.1 is $99.99 at newegg

He's okay with going over so lets go over, if we bump this up to a R9 290 we are still under $650 and it will preform much nicer. Or if he wants fast storage could always throw in a small Samsung 840/850 evo for the price difference.

Thank you! That looks perfect, i'll look for a small ssd and still be ok with budget. Just wondering, what psu would you recommend for the 290?

Also, for only $5 more, do you think the 4460 that Outlander found is a better processor?
