Hi friends,

My dell studio just expired. So I am lookig for a budget laptop just for browsing and watching movies. very rarely I work on excel and word.

Please suggest me a cheap laptop. As cheap as possible.

I will be buying a Gaming PC in the coming month or so. but anyway I need a laptop for mobility. so i decided i will buy something bare minimum.

Everything that I need. Nothing that I don't need.

Thank you very much,

Forget the above Lenovo G700 with a Pentium 2020m for $400. Note, the specs are wrong, it does not have an Intel HD 4000 graphics core, it only has a Intel HD (Ivy Bridge generation) graphics core. The Intel HD 4000 graphics core is only in the Core i3/i5/i7 CPUs.

Get one of the following 17.3" HP laptops from Bestbuy with a 1600x900 resolution screen for $400. Both are the same with the exception of the CPU. The AMD version has the quad core A8-5550m APU and the Radeon HD 8550g integrated graphics. The Intel version has a dual core i3-4000m with the Intel HD 4600.

The Intel HD 4600 is actually more powerful than the Radeon HD 8550g. There are only two AMD integrated graphics core more powerful than the Intel HD 4600; they are the Radeon HD 8610g and HD 8650g.

Thanks both of you. I will look into these options.

Perhaps I should provide some additional filters to narrow down the options.

I am being a bit over cautions because I have had a very bad expirience with DELL.

So far I have shortlisted 2 laptops.

Criterion:
i3 processor
2GB RAM, up-gradable to 4 GB
Intel HD Graphics
No Operating system

My motherboard died yesterday. So I think I can use my previous Win 7 license.

I prefer Lenovo or Asus. Want to avoid Dell and HP.

1. Lenovo ThinkPad E 530. 26,500 INR.

2. Lenovo Essential G500. 24,600 INR

Here is the comparison.

I am leaning towards ThinkPad. Any views on this Laptop?

Prices are adjusted for 10% Cash back offer on my HDFC Credit card.

Well thanks for your opinion.

Flip-kart is updating a lot of deals. So will take a decision y tomorrow morning after all the deals are updated.

Just curious, how good are AMD APU based Laptops? A4 Quad core and above.
