Budget Motherboard?

Well my friend has asked me to help him upgrade his HTPC computer, heres the full specs (he used it to game and edit HD files)

Biostar P4M900 (Pentium 4)

P4 3.2 GHZ 478 CPU

4GB DDR2 RAM

8500GT Nvidia Graphics

500GB WD Sata HDD

His plan is to sell this and get a new HTPC that I'll help him build. Now he's deciding on parts, hows the MSI K9N6PGM2 motherboard? He'll be buying at the local store for only $ 65.00 CAD. Hes going to pair it with a AMD Athlon64 X2 4850e CPU. In the future he plans to play some games and he's getting a 9600GT (He's a NVIDIA fanboi lol). If he were to get a nicer CPU like a Brisbane 5600+ or a 6000+ will the board OC? Thanks for the help! :lol:

It's an old board. I'd be worried about cpu support, let alone o/c.

I don't think it'll o/c a lot. If you want that, look at any board with SB750.

Agreed and this is where mATX mobos like Biostar TA790GX XE comes into play Small but on SB750/ACC.

Thanks, thats what I thought. I didn't expect it to have great O/C capabilities, I'll keep looking tho. Maybe some Asus boards.
