Hi I am looking for a computer for my son on a budget, it is simply wanted to play skyrim with graphical mods and be able to run well, can anyone recommend a pre built or costume built which can do so? Under 400 if possible please. Thank you

Hello Lukeus,

Even when on a budget, as much as possible try to build a PC balancing your current requirement and possible good future upgrade path.

Consider this config meets your prime requirements and at the same time offers great future upgrade path:

- Play Skyrim including Mods with pretty good graphical fidelity. Most modern games with medium/high graphical fidelity @720/1080p
- The Intel G3258 clocked at 3.2Ghz is a budget gaming beast and can be easily clocked to at least 4.0Ghz after updating the motherboard BIOS.
- Included the H97M chipset based board so that the G3258 will work out of the box without any BIOS update. But on H81/B85/H87 based board you may need a BIOS update even for the board to recognize the processor. Also the Gigabyte H97M D3H allows you to upgrade to any Haswell/Haswell Refresh/Broadwell i3/i5/i7 in future including the i5 4690 or i7 4790 processors
- The GTX 750 Ti only require a 400W PSU that can deliver 20Amps or more on its +12V rail. The EVGA 500W can delivery 40Amps on its +12V rail, which is more than enough.
