Budget PC Gaming

Hi guys,
How are you?....Hoping that you are enjoying your holidays...
I was on YouTube a few days back thats when I saw a video about ''Do You Need An Expensive CPU For Gaming''
The guy (I wont tell you the name...which is Austin Evans...lol) was comparing an i5 and an X4 750k....the price difference is alot...basically $85 and $200+ respectively.....Anyway,the conclusion was that the more powerfull your GPU is,the more the processor is likely to perform.I was thinking about buying an FX-6300 with a GTX-660 but now that I have seen those results,I am starting to think about buying a X4-750K and a FAnCy GPU.......
Also 8GB RAM
Do you think that the following build will be enough to run the new games at about Medium to High Graphics??

AMD Athlon II X4-750K
8 GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 660

and I also need advice about motherboard and power supply...

If budget is no option, get an i5 4670k and a z87 motherboard.
