So I'm Planning on buying a FX-8320 and I Want to over clock it to 4.0GHz and then after i reach that point i want to remain there. I'm Wondering how much CPU- Life span that will remove, what I need about cooling, and is there anything i need to check with my other bits of hardware to make sure its compatible. I appreciate it, but I am also on a tight budget, and trying to stay under $500 dollars with my build, in which I've already spent: $81.93 USD on motherboard, $56.54 USD on Chassis, and at most i will be paying $78.41 USD on RAM which puts me at 216.88. I need a PSU, GPU, and CPU

UPDATE- I can and most likely will purchase from ebay

275** dollars though. haha... I have to limit you people somewhere or next thing i know i will be out a thousand bucks. LOL  😀 Its just a number that i am testing this community with to see if they can achieve a question that is deeply important to me

Try using this site for pricing and compatibility:

The FX-8320 is around 130usd so that will leave you around 80usd for PSU and GPU. I don't think you will have to worry about shortening the lifespan of the CPU if all you want is 4ghz, the max turbo speed is 4ghz.

A good air cooler can at least as good as a closed loop watercooler, and somewhat cheaper. Good luck.

okay thanks!!
