Im building a d ll optiplex gaming system and i have a GTX 570 as a budget card, but need a cheap psu to support it. Any recommendations? On the EVGA site they recommend at least a 500w psu and the card is powered by two 6 pin connectors. Space is not an issue because I plan to upgrade the case. Also, the system is the 780 model.

Solution
Upgrading the case will be very difficult. It's a Micro BTX "form factor". That's in quotes because Dell did a lot of proprietary connectors on those and except for a swap with an Optiplex 760 there's not much interchangeaability even amomg Optiplexes.
If you have The MT size case an aftermarket ATX PSU will work just fine.
The GTX 570 will cause huge fitment problems. The MB hangs on the left side of the case. The GPU is in the last available expansion slot. It will hit the CPU cooler. Even an ITX card needs modding to fit. Some of them a lot. The only decent video card that will drop in those is the Zotac GTX1050 Mini series.
BTX CPU coolers are not interchangeable with ATX.

A budget build of an Opti 780 MT would be a Q9650,Q9550, 12-16GB DDR3 RAM (1066 is what it will run at) and a Zotac GTX1050Ti Mini with a stock Dell PSU.
The GPU and RAM can move forward to a newer computer

Solution
Agreed. Trying to upgrade an Optiplex machine CAN be a total nightmare if it is one of their SFF units. A new case and motherboard, at minimum, might be a foregone conclusion depending on the model. They DO use a lot of proprietary stuff. Not all models are that way, but a lot of them are.
